Fixing rear main seal on 68 Charger 318 in car?

Can this job be easily done while motor is still in the car. It has a pretty good leak so I'm gonna fix it one way or the other

I'm gonna say pull the motor, you'll feel better knowing it was done right and not pinched. For the amount of time it will take you to jury your way around under there the motor could be on a stand. Then you can inspect everything.

not a hard fix in the car once you get the pan off, do it

Yes, if you remove the tranny. If it's a 4spd, then it's time to change the clutch as well - wether it needs it or not (usually).

I just did mine over the weekend on my 440.  Hardest part was getting the oil pan off.  After that it is was cake.  Had to remove the bar for the steering linkages.
