After thinking some more about the "old school" look on the 69, I just had to take the next step and borrow some vintage Torque Thrust rims and era correct tires from a friend. So what do you guys think? They were missing the center caps but besids that I think they look at home on her....

You know, I was sure that I was going to be solidly in the "Love It!" camp, but now that I see them...  I'm afraid they're not really doing it for me.  :-\  I think its the vintage tires that kill it.  :eek2:

That looks a dang sight better than any 20" rim you will see on any car these days.  When I was a kid I always wanted a Charger done up as the General Lee, now that I am 30 I still think it would be cool to have one done as a Lee for a while just to see the look on my sons face.  My goal for a Charger long term is red, black vinyl top, and torque thrusts wheels so I would vote firmly to leave that car looking the way it does with the mismatched wheels or torque-thrusts on all corners.

Doug,

If you're in the market for a set of Torq Thrusts, check with NYCMille/Mr Angry. I believe he is about to put the ones off my old Charger on the market.

Thanks guys! I was intrigued when I first test fit the slicks, thought it looked good. I can't ever remember seeing a Charger done up with this look so I think it's unique also. The rim and tire were borrowed from a friend just so I could see what they look like before I spent the cash. It is the spare out of a 66 Shelby ....vintage all the way. I think I really like this look and may just keep it for the street. I'll have to do a little thinking about tires though...those Hoosiers a very sloppy on the street. I do like the look of them though!

This is another wheel I'm considering.... :scratchchin:

are those 15's?

15" TTO's
15x7 w/225-70-15 front. 15x8.5 w/275-60-15 rear. Firestone cop tires on the front. Nitto drags on the rear.

Too bad you didn't live closer, it would almost be worth it to me to break up the extra set I have now.  You'd get the front wheels you need and I'd have the rears for my slicks.  ;)

RJS

You should lower the rear about 2" and put some 90/10"s up front with 6 cyl bars to make that car work!!!

The Kid

I love the TT look :drool5: ! I wasn't a huge fan of the Magnum's with the steelies out back, but the TT's and steelies look awesome!

firefighter3931

I luv the nostalgia look....nice choice !  :2thumbs:

Doug, how much air are you running in the Hoosiers ? If they feel sloppy try increasing the pressure.  ;)

Fwiw, a bias ply front tire will be a better match with the QTP's....Radials and Bias Ply tires should not be mixed.  :Twocents:

Mike was gonna let me know when he got ready to sell those. They would look DYNAMITE on a first or second gen Charger!
