what you read... about intakes... best application of each one

and one question appart...

whats the closer to stock HP intake manifold ? I mean WITH crossover and coil choke location. ( even on looks )

Mopar performance dual plane or Edelbrock performer are pretty close to stock design.

RD

edelbrock made a CH4B i believe licensed for use with Mopar... had one, cant remember if that number coincided with the RB or B engine though.

well CH4B is squarebore intake and didn't see the choke coil provision on it. By the moments just found is RB

DP4B is to B and already have one around

Dual Plane MP is earlier design

BTM just edelbrock performer meets the "requirements", BB available, choke provision ( laters choke coil ) and spreadbore...#2186

anyway, about the first question ?

A dual plane is closer in design to the factory HP manifold. To my knowledge, Chrysler never fitted a single plane on a factory motor.

myk

You mean dual plane versus single plane?  Single plane manifolds are specifically designed to help motors achieve better performance in the higher upper RPM's, and they don't provide very good performance during lower RPM's with noticeable losses in torque, etc.  On the other hand, dual plane manifolds help make power on lower RPM applications.

For street cars, using a dual plane manifold is almost always the best choice, obviously because you'll be seeing mostly lower RPM's around town and whatnot...
