My sons 76 Scamp /6 Hurst 4 speed has a rod knocking. We have a 72 Valliant parts car with a decent running engine but its automatic. I'm guessing it's a steel crank because of it's year. But not sure. I know the bean counters at Chrysler back then figured it would be a great idea to not put pilot holes in in the end of the cranks on automatic vehicles with big blocks  :eek2:.

So, did they do it in 72 with slant six's?
