Man, I wish I had some extra money for this one (but the interior sounds horrible): Dodge A108 Travco Family Wagon with a Vista top

From the craigslist ad: "This is probably the coolest camper van around. I searched for years to find this van and saddly found the perfect house at the same time and need to sell it. This is a classic Dodge A108 Travco Family Wagon with a Vista top. These vans are extremely rare and are really really cool. The dodge van in the animated movie Cars is based off of one of these vans (same colors and all). This is an excellent original van. It has a 318 V8 with a torqueflight transmission. It also comes equiped with a two burner stove, sink, bed and ice box. It has two new deep cycle batteries and isolator. There is no rust in the body and only a few minor dents. Overall this van is in amazingly original condition. It is two tone turquoise and white on the exterior and hot pink on the interior [WTF?]. The van runs great down the freeway, but does have an idle issue. It has most of the original smog equipment on it and there seems to be some problem with it at idle...however it starts everytime and drives great...but will sometimes die at traffic lights. If you are familiar with these vans I am sure if come and look at it you will be amazed how straight and rustfree this van is. It has never been modified or beat up in any way and would make a great retro beach cruiser. Please call with questions...360-281-7182. Thanks."

Man, what a flaw! :smilielol:
Looks like it's in pretty good shape, but redoing that interior could get expensive.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Hey bro, they have one just like that at Wildcat.......check it out.

Thanks for the link LP but WTH? Whose genius idea was it to A. shoot a pic of it three feet off the ground on a forklift and B. carry it around on a forklift in the first place? That doesn't really bode well in my book when it comes to TLC by a previous owner. No interior pics and this line, "should be rust free." Yea, they should all be rust free.

Yea, they don't seem to be the sharpest tools in the shed over at that place.   :icon_smile_blackeye:

Just guessing, late 60's because it looks like the 69 that I had. There shouldn't be any smog equipment on it.

Sweet van-action, Curtis.

I'll still holding out for a '71 Winnebago.

I keep finding '72s, but they don't have grey-water tanks.

Oh well, I'll keep waiting and the prices will keep going up.  :eyes:  ;)

Hidden headlights would be cooler. Don't they have some drag racing versions of these kinds of rigs?

RD

how rare is it if there are two more exactly like it, found within 15 posts of a new thread?  maybe we should do some vista hunting and see how many we can find to disprove the "rarity" claim?
