My Daughter works with a local film company. She hired on at a time when they were going through a lean period, but through diligent work, she proved to be an invaluable person for the company & a great help to the boss. He told her that if she could stick it out, when things turned around & were going well, he would give her a raise & buy her a car.
She got a raise a couple weeks ago & started doing some car shopping. Her current vehicle is getting pretty tired & a raise would help get her some new, more dependable wheels. She started looking at some '02 Mustangs that were in her price range & sharing some of her findings with her fellow employees & boss...I don't think the thought crossed her mind that he was really serious about that car thing he said way back when...

...until yesterday, when he asked her to take a detour on the way to work, ending up at a Ford dealership. Waiting at the dealership, with a bunch of balloons tied to it, was this brand NEW '08 Mustang GT! :o

Smells like leather in here. :icon_smile_cool:

This perma-grin will be hard to wipe off for quite a while, I'm sure. :icon_smile_big:

168 miles on the clock.

Here's the '91 4-banger she's driven since High School. (pic from '05 after dropping the tranny for rebuild #2.)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Thats awesome! Good for her.  :2thumbs: I get to drive a new Mustang, F-150's 250's and 350's everyday myself, they don't belong to me, but hey, it sure feels it at times! FYI, I have info. for mods whenever shes ready.
For all the haters out there, keep the comments to yourself, its a cool car!  :2thumbs:

Grant, your Daughter should be very proud of herself for being such a good employee and hagning in there.  Obviously it has paid off.

There is no doubt you are proud of her.  You've done something right over the years, now go pat yourself on the back and share some pointers with us on being a good Father!  :2thumbs:

Uhhhh Grant....

Maybe I'm wrong...and maybe I'm a cynical asshole for thinking this way....but, your daughter is a very pretty girl.  Bosses don't often buy their employees new Mustang GTs.

Are you sure that her boss is not expecting something more out of the deal than just a good employee?  I'm not insinuating that anything HAS happened.  All I'm saying is that she may want to keep an eye on this dude.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

Man I love the mustangs, ops can I say that on here. :whistling: Congrats to your Daughter and you, tell her to be carefull, a four banger to a GT can be a big step. I know what it is to be a proud father and grandfather.

Being the father of two beautiful grown daughters, this was my first thought also.  It's rare to find really good and honest people anymore, but it sounds like her boss may just be one of the rare ones.  Nice car.

OC, I'll admit that for a second, that thought crossed my mind too. However, my wife knows my daughter's boss better than I do & she's said she has had no "red flag" feelings pop up from this at all. She's usually pretty fine-tuned to her "red flag" feelings.
My daughter said that there's a new car that has been promised to another employee, that will be given at a later date & that a third employee is due to receive one of their current company vehicles when they buy a new one to replace it.

Recharged (& others), I agree, it is definitely refreshing to hear of honest people who stick to their promises. :yesnod:

sometimes a person needs a good thing in life. It keeps you from thinking ' why and for whom am I doing this'

Glad to hear that there are actually some people out there that keep their word. I wish the company I work for was like that. Heck the last thing they had going on at work, was a supposed reward system. Whoever was the employee of the quarter for the first quarter of the year was to receive in return a day off of work with pay, one night for the family in a hotel room, and a weekend pass to a water park. I won employee of the quarter and was informed yesterday at work that due to economic hard times they will be giving me a $60 gift card to Dicks Sporting goods in exchange for the other prize. Which all in all if fine, because any $$$ is always helpful in these days and age, but its more of the principal of telling a person one thing then changing. Just glad to hear that there are at least some employers out there that actually mean what they say.
