hey i'm about to buy disc brakes for my 68 charger i have a question what is the difference between manual and power brakes and which one is better to have?

Charger_Fan

With manual brakes, the master cylinder bolts directly to the firewall...

Power brakes have a power booster between the master cylinder & firewall...

Was that your question? :shruggy:

As far as which one's better, I guess it depends on;
1) How hard you want to stand on the brake pedal
2) If you have a big cam in your engine, it may not make enough vacuum to power the booster. In which case, manual would be the better way to go.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

thanks for the reply i will have a good sized cam in my 440 so manual will probably do better. also which one do you have to press farther to the floor to apply brakes? and does either of them while applying brakes don't grab then all of a sudden grab hard or are they soft coming on?
