I'm sure you all remember this one...  I had some large photos of it from front corner last time...  I know a '69 Charger owner that swore an INCH chopped from front pillars looked good, but...  That's hard to imagine...

It's SHORTENED TOO!:

Got in a bad wreck totalled out my Rig.  I was cruising down I-5 in Sacramento, and JUST saw TWO hydroplane accidents.  I was going 55mph and was slowly passing a car in the middle lane (3 lane Hwy).  Some moron came-up on the right lane at high speed and took us both out...

Here is a pic of my truck...  Now it's TWISTED.  Then a pic of my leg...

Thanks guys!  I almost lost it.  I was slammed into a 3ft tall Concrete wall, both wheels sheared off, and I was about to slide over wall INTO oncoming traffic, and it was THICK traffic.  I'm a dead man walking...  Well not walking yet...

Thinking about a '06 Ram HD now...   (I had revolted against Ma' MoPar because of the whole Charger thing)...  I'll give them a reprieve since I see the Chally's out now ;)

Anyone notice the three staples they left inside of me?  Is that normal?  (Doc said it was)...

Glad your ok. I saw the staples. :shruggy: I heard of stitches that dissolve. I don't have any staples left in me. They do look pretty close to the skin so I would guess they would have to be taken out if your body rejects them. I had a pin that my body rejected and it pooped out thru the skin. :icon_smile_tongue:

I don't know if leaving staples behind is normal, but at least you get your money's worth by being allowed to keep them. Think about all those poor patients who've paid for stitches over the years & never got to keep them. I bet they'd feel ripped off if they saw your x-ray.

By the way, you could have saved a few bucks if you stopped at Home Depot & picked up a box of stainless steel wood screws the same size as the ones I see in the x-ray. Hospitals charge more for one than Home Depot does for a whole box.  :Twocents:

I don't think leaving staples behind is normal, they should have taken it out. Had an open tibia and calf bone fracture in the past, 1 bar 2 screws is all they used. Strange the put so much steel inside you...
Have a good recovery!!

BTW The charger looks  :puke:

It is normal, i have a bunch of them.
They will remove them if they cause you any trouble, with sore spots, and crap like that.
They are most likely titanium, and should be fine.
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

Happy to hear your O.K, man that looks painful.  Please tell us the moron got caught that caused the whole thing?  I deal with them everyday here in CT on RT15 and I-95.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

We need bigger pics, someone from the Kansas Mafia needs to go look at that car & report back. :icon_smile_big:

Here's the pics that were posted here in '06.

Sorry to hear about your crash Jude, but glad you're recovering. Nice hardware trophy pics. :2thumbs:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

That MIGHT be a deal IF it is a real R/T, and you could talk him down a little.  There are all sorts of roofs around for transplanting...  'Ya think?

I have a very long plate with 10 screws in my right femur. Mine was broken impact style, so the bone shattered. The plate created a gap for the bone to regenerate. It took about 4 months for the bone to fill in and harden. The fill in process was fairly quick, but had to wait as the bone hardened. You could see the gap with a ghost image of bone become more opaque as weeks went by.

If you have an option down the road to get the hardware out, I say go for it. Early on my old doctor said it would never be a problem. Then after the bone grew around it and it was unconfortable on moist days, the new doctor said it should have come out as the bone is stronger when solid versus flawed with steel passing through it. But now the procedure would be very intense and would require a long healing period, so I just deal with it.

Dude, Ouch....

I was out riding my Dirt Bike when I stuffed into a berm. I ended up with a Tibial Pleateu Fracture. Jan 07, a plate and 7 screws were installed. July 07, removed hardware. Feb 08, Total Knee replacement. Still cn't walk, but getting better!

Best of luck...

As for the chopped Charger, NO!!!
