So, I was driving to one of my IM softball games today and missed my turn to go to the fields, but luckily I didn't just stop and pull a U-turn in the road.  About 1/2 a mile up the road I made a couple nice finds at an auto shop.  Thankfully my new cell phone has a camera built into it.

The Coronet looked like a legit R/T although I can't guarantee it because I don't know what to look for in the VIN.  It kind of looked like it could have been an unrestored car.  It was an automatic car with black interior and original a/c.  The reflectors on the side look rediculous though  :rotz:  I really don't know anything about the Chevelle other than the color and that it's either a '70 or a '71.  I didn't even check it out up close.

I also spotted this one for sale a mile or so from my house a couple weeks ago too.  I got the number but didn't bother calling.

I could go back to check on it's far sale status if anybody want's me to.  My brother was kind of wondering since he needs a car now, but I'm not so sure I want to see him sitting behind the wheel of a car with a big block now  ::)  I wish I had the Charger with me to drive to the shop...that would help to spark conversation pretty quickly.  Maybe the owner is a local.  It would be nice to go on some cruises with some MOPAR enthusiasts in the area.

How can you tell?  I usually judge them by how the roof goes around the rear quarter glass (or whatever it's called).  I know that '71's look pretty much the same, but they have round taillights.

the 70 has the split grill with two headlights the '71 has the single headlights.. '68 n '69 have quad lamps too...
today i heard a healthy V8 and the first thing i thought was..  sounds like a Chevy, so i look out the window and sure enough a '69 SS Chevelle...
Damn - I'm good!  :D

hemi-hampton

I dont think the 71-72 Chevelle has those square lights in bumper either, Dont see a SS in grille, Probably a Malibu cloned :scratchchin: LEON.

How about the 5.0 mustangs.  Everyone sounds exactly the same.  Those are real easy to spot sound wise.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
