There's a thread going about a lee majors movie from 1981 called the last chase....someone also mentioned the fall guy and it got me thinking of one of my favorite movies ever: HOOPER.

sick car chase/jump at the end and generally good stunts throughout the movie.  throw in sally field when she was hot, the old dude from hardcastle and mcormick, and a terry bradshaw cameo and you have a winner

Yep he sure was.

Man that is a great movie. The end jump scene is a little cheesy with a toy Trans Am with a firecracker in it's rear as the "Rocket Car". But a often overlooked great movie.

And don't forget it has James Best in it to tie it into Chargers in a round about way.

Don't forget Jan Michael Vincent before the booze and drugs ruined his life, and his career.

also, clearly NOT a trans am that actually makes that jump. I don't know what it is, but the only thing those two cars have in common is red paint.

Looked like a funny car of sorts that made the jump.

I have a hard time staying awake during that movie.

I seen the movie twice. And that was enough cheese for me for a long time. The only thing I liked about it was the red T/A.

The drunk driving scene on the PCH in "Hooper" amazes me.

Man, what a different time in the culture.  The main characters grab a few beers & get into a souped-up car for a cruise, and it gets played for laughs.

Oh my God that was total Cheese!   :smilielol:   :smilielol:

In another 20 years people will be having these conversations about the original "Fast & Furious" movie.

The original? Why would people wait another 20 years to talk about a film from 1955? http://imdb.com/title/tt0046969/

I was in High School when the movie came out, and I remember someone actually doing the same thing (driving backwards) in front of the school showing off on the main road in front of it in their Chevy truck ::)

I think Hooper and Star Wars were the only two movies I ever saw on consecutive days back when movies were worth going to see more than once. Yeah, I know you can't compare Hooper to Star Wars but I was a kid, so gimme a break.  ;)

pettyfan43

I don't know what half you guys are smoking, Hooper is a GREAT flick.  Some really neat stuff and some REALLY funny stuff as well!!
