Strange things still happens, a few days a go on a after work session one of my colleagues and I started to discuss mopars over a few beers , as he had noticed picture in my office of my -71 Charger and 300G.

The story revealed was that he in the mid 80S was living for a period in California trying to survive as a hard rock musician, as always this is hard and to get his way around not to be a car guy he bought a Chevy camaro, his hard rocking California friends told him to drop it and find a real Mopar instead, as we all know  :coolgleamA:image is everything, especially if you are a hard rock musician! :musik010:

After while in the business some greens where floating in and he stroke a deal on mopar, a sublime green Challenger R/T 4-speed Hemi car! he used it for the rest of his stay in California but left it in friends garage when it was time to head home to Sweden, the idea was to use it when he frequently should visit his friends in California, as always plans don't come through and he have only driving the car once for over 20 years, but the cars still remains in the garage!

Well, I do not need to tell you that I thought he was joking, but after a while I understand that he really still have the car and he didn't have clue about the value! He know that there was some increased values for Mopars, but not in his wildest fantasy at the level this are right now, however he was chocked when I told him the prices I have seen for E-bodys, he asked me what to do when he realized that I wasn't joking, bring it home to Sweden or keep it in California, well that's the question!
I guess there is no rush as it been in store for almost all it's time the last 20 years, but really what should I recommend him? The car is not for sale, but how to appraise this? I'm not trust that the Nadaguide and goldbook gives accurate and market responsive values, any other ideas where to get approximate values?
The car is a untouched driver surviver with unknown milage at the moment(he will get the milagefrom his friend together with pictures) without any significant modifications or repairs since 1970!

Of course the car should be valued by experts at site later on, but to give him fair idea of what we are talking about I would like to give him a little more qualified estimates, any guidance of where to find more accurate appraisals here appreciated.

Realistically, look to the Hemmings Motor News. Or Mopar Collector Guide magazine.
If you can't find what you're looking for there, look at the Barrett-Jackson website and compare it to a few of the cars that are similar.
I think you might find that the market is softening right now, but there are always the few people out there that will pay astronomical amounts for cars regardless of market conditions.
And I happen to know a few of these people.

It's amazing how many rare cars are still out still.  Like the 70 Superbird in my town from the original owner with 20,000 miles on it.  We did a thread about rare cars still out there a while back.  Great story.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
