Cool links, thanks Bull.
How did you end up finding those, on a VP search tonight for any particular reason?

I was actually looking for a 1970 vintage Dodge Challenger press release that shows a Challenger pulling an Airstream travel trailer so I typed in "Challenger pulling trailer" and found this. Now, could someone please find that press release for me? :-\

Yes! Thank you. I found it at work today but couldn't find it at home.

EDIT** oh, then I see it in the "Back in the day pictures" thread. :brickwall:

No problem.  I love looking at the old pics from mother mopar.  I would love to find more of the 1970 B-Body's. Mainly the Road Runner's. Another cool car that we have up here that I have never talked about is a 70 challenger R/T that is sequence number 1002**. It has a build date of 803. The car is LOADED. 440 auto A/C, PW, Sun Roof, Lugage rack, Plum Crazy, Hounds tooth, White longitudinal stripe. Wheel lip mouldings. And tones more. I will try to get a pic of the fender tag.  Its a total project but is no worse than the ad runner was.

OK...I've been killing myself trying to find a website where I saw a factory picture of a 1969 Charger R/T hauling a full size camper trailer...try and find THAT one!!  :eek2:

I'll do some looking. But I have to admit. I have never seen that one. Then again. I'm only 24. I am sure someone could photoshop you one. :icon_smile_big:

How's this?
This pic is part of the "Trailblazer" sweepstakes flyer.

The Charger pulling the camper appears to be an RT/SE though. Looks like Se emblems on the sail panel to me anyways.

TUFCAT

Those Dart wheel covers suck! They're not the SE 14" wheel covers.

that is crazy nowadays to imagine a charger pulling a 25' airstream!
unreal, but hey they were just cars back then, quite capable, and trucks weren't in every household like they are today

Heh, I'm surprised no one in Hollywood has made a Brokeback Mountain style Racing or Mopar type movie yet... yeah I know that was random but that's the thought I had when looking at that photo   :rotz:

Any more pics of Mopars pulling travel trailers?

Yea, now all the classic cars are on the trailer.

How about a 68 pulling a boat.Kinda wimpy if you compare it to what the 69 can pull.
Not bashing 68 I like them as well.

No  , I have the flyer and scanned part of the page.

TUFCAT

You're 100% right!  Trailer hitches were VERY commonly added on cars back then. In fact, my 1967 Coronet had a hitch and a brake conrtroller on it.

I've always wondered what happened to that Camaro they wrecked at the end of VP.

If you think about it, there couldn't have been anything salvageable left on that hulk afterwards.  And the film crew probably wouldn't have paid to have it trucked very far away after totalling it.  And the whole scene doesn't look like the kind of area with a big modern scrapyard just over the hill, ready to cube it on arrival.

Makes you wonder if there might still be some ancient old geezer in Utah, a local junk collector or something, with a burned-out white crumpled blob of metal on his property, trees & brush growing up through it . . .
