I tried searching to no avail...

What should the timing be on my 318?

1974-318-2bbl-Auto(stock) with 3.23 Surgrip
no major engine mods.

and which cyl is #1?

Ghoste

Number one is always the one which is closest to the front of the car.  If you look closely, you'll note that one bank of cylinders is slightly offset from the other.  In a Mopar number one is drivers side, front.
Your timing should be set at tdc, I believe for a 74.

jaak

I have a 76 318 in a 72 Charger, it says timing should be a TDC, but my car ran awful, so I set it to 5 Deg before TDC and it runs a whole lot better.
