I have the MSD 6A and use the cut-out by grounding one of the wires as specified in the instruction manual. It seems that might be the cause of corrosion buildup on my battery terminals. Before installing the MSD, I don't recall having much of a build-up. Just wondering if anyone else has that problem.
I am currently not using the cut-out and will see eventually if that indeed is the problem.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

I just clean the terminal (baking soda and water paste) then put on a light-medium coat of axle or "high temp bearing" grease (red stuff, left over from repacking the bearings). I never have to worry about corrosion this way.

PS you can use "Vaseline" but it melts at a low temperature, so it will need to be reapplied often. I only use it when I have nothing else at the time.
