disk brake questions

hi all! its finally time for front end upgrades. i was wondering if anyone can help me in my quest for a kick ass front disk brake set up?
i was looking at the summit and jegs kit, witch cost $750 and includes ss brake lines and master cylndar, slotted rotors and stuff.
but i was more interested in the ssbc stuff, but the product desciptions were pretty vegue.  i have the infamous stock drum set up and need pretty much everything.  so if anyone knows of a complete kit it would be a great help!
and if power are better than manuel? if so, just how much better?
