here is a description of an intake im bidding on
QuoteI just removed the carb. There is a small chip in one of the carbs stud holes. It will not affect the use if you use Edelbrock or carter carbs. If you use a Holley you may need to fix it. Also 1 of the other holley carb stud holes is missing some threads. Should work ? Just to let you know.

is there a fix for this ? retap holes ?  :shruggy: drill out for a helicoil ?  :shruggy:

thanks RANDY

what intake is it?  and how much?

its a CH4B edelbrock $150.00 with an EDELBROCK 750 carb included . the carb i have sold if i win . so that will offset the cost of the intake and repairs .

Helicoil the intake and it will work just fine.  Costs (doing it your self) is approx. $5 to $8 for helicoil kit and your time.

True, .....will be stronger with the heli-coil.

I've heard of race teams doing this to certain parts before putting them in use.

That is an easy fix!!
The manifold is stripped, so you just take it to a welder, and fill in the piece missing with tig or mig. Then, grind it flat on top, redrill the hole, and use helicoil there!
