Well, first off- let me mention to ya'll that about a month ago, I traded in the good 'ol 1996 ram with 160K miles on it on a brand new 2007 Hemi Ram Quad Cab within a few weeks of arriving here in Clovis, New Mexico!  I got a helluva great deal and I truely believe in helping the local economy every chance I get.  I'm extremely happy with my new Ram-  it is one SWEEEEEEEET new ride and I hope to have her as long as I had the last Ram.  That being said, I've got just over 3K miles on the Kacki colored babe and for her first oil change, I want to begin using synthetic oil.  I've never used any synthetic ever- been a Castrol 10W30 man my entire driving life.

I want to begin using a line of synthetics that I've heard is really good- Lucas Oil.

Have any of you guys had any experience with Lucas synthetic oil and if so- what are your opinions?

Thanks guys!

I didn't know they made straight motor oil, but I've used Lucas oil stabilizer.  Very good product.

I really liked all the Lucas Oil products I've used so far. Their injector cleaner is great!

Not sold on Lucas oil products at all- Read this!!!

And more info about any kind of oil additives Here!

Get yourself a good synthetic oil- Amsoil, Mobil 1, etc and a good oil filter and leave the additives for the late night infomercials.

Okay, so I guess I won't be using the oil stabilizer additive.  Funny- I seriously thought about adding that stuff, but did not mention it in my original post!

After reviewing that Bob's Oil Guy site, I think I'll just stick with straight synthetics and not add any stabilizer.  It sure did add a LOT of air into the mix and that can't be good.

Anyone else?

Their trans fix worked great in my 74 318 727. It slipped in forward and reverse was non-existant. I put some in and within 10 miles 1st was like new and reverse worked good enough to back out the garage.

ive been living by their products for a while now.  Lucas Oil company makes a great oil stabilizer and diesel fuel additive, as well as ps fluis(which stoped my ps leak) and thetrans fluid ive used made my trans shift smoother too.  Heck, right now ive got a failing fuel pump in my 24 vavle cummins, before i added the additve last night i was running only 1 psi on fuel pressure, now ive got 6, i love their products

:shruggy:  Well, after a thourough search of all the auto parts stores here in Clovis, none of them sell the actual synthetic oil that I'm looking for.  They only sell the additives, such as oil stabilizer, injector cleaner, stop leak and the like.  I even went to the local Loves truck stop and found no luck there.

If I'm not able to locate the Lucas 5W-20 synthetic oil here in town- is there a way to get it on-line?

I just don't want to have to fall back to my back-up plan and purchase Castrol Syntec 5W-20 at the local Wal-Mart if I don't have to.

I really want to try this Lucas Oil if I can get it.

Any suggestions?
