Just figured I would bring this up since it is a historic Dodge D900 that was used in the fire service in my town.  I would love to own this and have it in good with the present owner so if he ever decides to sell (which I doubt) I think I am in good to get it.  But here is a link to the site.  http://www.boontonfd.org/1964DodgePhotos.htm

Here is a little write up on it also.

"The emergence of the Salvage & Rescue Company #1 from the Board of Fire Wardens (Wardens were a combination of Fire and Police)  marked a new era within the Fire Department. The new fire company name reflected the duties, which were already being performed by the Wardens. These duties were of prime importance within the Fire Department even as it operates today. The requirement for these duties emerged by the results of both modern construction, and modern fire equipment. Fires were in most cases not as devastating as they were in the past. Thus an increased need for Salvage & Rescue efforts.
These duties necessitated even more equipment, so in 1964 a new truck was purchased. This truck was a 1964 Dodge, purchased from Corigliano Motors and Adam Black built the body to specifications written by the Fire Company. This truck was purchased for a total cost of $18,000 in 1964. The 1964 truck was very unique in style, versatility, and utilization of space. This truck would accommodate the needs of the fire Department for a total of 24 years before its was replacement in 1987. Thomas CXXXXXXXX, Jr. (name blacked out due to prevent unsolicited contact to present owner)  also purchased the 1964 Dodge as well and continues to maintain it today."

If I had to sell my charger to get this 64 Dodge rescue truck, I probably would.  I love the body lines on it and it is a 1 of 1 custom built truck for the Boonton Fire Dept.  The whole molded section above the cab where it goes into the body is all hand done in lead!  Imagine the amount of work that had to go into making that.  This truck is in excellent shape as it was when the town took delivery of it back in 1964.  As it is, this truck and my family have a history.  My father was taken to his wedding on this truck while it was in service in the town of Boonton and in 2005, I was taken to my wedding in the back of this truck (truck is in private collection at this point, used with permission of present owner).  As it was, my father and I have responded to numerous calls in the FD on this piece of apparatus.  Think of the countless ours of service this Dodge has played in with saving lives and homes.

What more pride could one have in a Dodge!  Oh, and as for the color, it is not a factory Dodge color.  Boonton FD has their own color called Boonton Fire Dept. Cream, even has its own Dupont color.  The owner of this fire truck has also purchased a total of 6 other pieces of retired Boonton Fire Dept aparatus including a 1959 Dodge Rescue truck which was replaced by the 1964 Salvage and Rescue truck.
