I'm planning to build a cart for my new mig set-up and looking for some ideas.
If you built your own cart, let's see 'em

Todd Wilson

I bought mine. It fits my welder pretty good but there could be some improvements.

First figure out how high or low the work you are going to be doing will be and then build your cart for that. Down low on the side of the car make the cart friendly for you to be sitting on a stool to reach . You will want hangers for your cables. A secure location for your gas bottle and maybe an easy storage of your helmet. Also some easy to get to tool holders. A wrench, plyers and wire cutter place. Maybe a spot for you consumables and extra spools of wire. It all needs to be able to roll easy and not be top heavy.

With all this being said unless you really really want to just build this cart no matter what there are some good priced carts out there for 50$ and up. It would be tough to buy the steel and wheels to build one for that price.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

wow thats really close to what I was picturing in my head thats why i wanted to build one, so it would have a work area on top for welding small stuff.
It doesn't look like it will do any turning though.
Thanks

I started welding...

I still need to get some plywood for the surfaces but here is a mock up with all the stuff in it.

I built mine out of an old metal bed frame. Even used the wheels.  I'll try to remember to get a picture of it tomorrow.  :D

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

I have it just about done.
I need a top and a bottom, but I can use it as is for now...

Looks pretty good.
If you have any new homes being built in your area, go raid their dumpster for free wood. It's amazing what they toss in the trash. :rotz:
