Ok Guys..all companies have there ups and downs..Good engineering and bad.. I will put up or shutup.. I have  a 68 RT and a 2008 RT with the "Road and Trac" which is an add on package! :eyes:?? I wunder what the RT stands for? :shruggy:...anyway.. THE heritage of the Charger I feel is being supported by offering the charger as a sports package/car.. Unlike the Cordaba/Cherger.. and what the heck is this 2.2 geez.. talkabout embarrasing :icon_smile_dissapprove: just so you can remember or if you have never seen one here is a reminder...

At least the Cordoba style was a 2 door and was still better looking than the Creeder . The 2.2 Chargers , again , were 2 door cars and in Turbo form, put out more horsepower per cubic inch than any Mopar .

The Honda Civic can claim that, as well.  And the new Charger can claim better all around performance than any classic Mopar.  Yet you don't like either of those cars.....

Read again . I said more than any MOPAR . Did you read any place I said Honda ? So you would rather drive a Honda Civic than a Shelby Charger ?
Figures . As far as the new Creeder having better all around performance , according to who ? Some white collar journalist who drives a Jap crossover to work ?

She draws on the board and the guy says.  "you want a car that goes faster?"  and then they start talking about a fucking v6 engine.  It sucks.  The big 3 suck, they are just making cars no body wants or is willing to pay 30K for.

they need to stand up to the government and make a damn car people can afford.  All this stafty crap is just crap and it costs to much money to develop.  I ask you, with all this safty crap, have we found a way to keep people from getting killed in a car yet?  No.  People are still getting kill and its costing us more and more money as a result of more and more safty junk we dont want.

Same with the EPA standards.  its crap. they will not stop till we are all on foot.  Hell our horses fart and they think thats is part of global warming as well so we cant even fucking ride horses.

Read what I wrote again.  You said the 2.2 turbo put out more hp per ci than any Mopar.  I said the same could be said for a turbo Civic, meaning that it, too, put out more hp/ci than any Mopar.  Essentially, I'm sarcastically making fun of you for using the same excuse ricers use against muscle cars (the "My car may not have as much actual HP, but I make more HP/liter than you do!" arguement).  Pretty weak, if you ask me.

And are you really trying to tell me that any Mopar from the 60s and 70s can out handle the new Charger, when both are in stock form?  The SRT-8 Charger has better 0-60 times than the classic, better top speed, etc.  I'm basically using the same arguements for the new Charger (which you hate), that you are using for the 2.2 Charger (which you are defending), and pointing out your blatant hypocracy.

1 - The Charger has a better power to weight ratio than the Creeder
2 - Even the 2.2 Chargers did also
3 - The Charger and 2.2 Chargers you could make performance upgrades to relatively easily . Not the Creeder , other than some Bling wheels ,bolt on gadgety stuff . They might have a chip ? Don't know .
4 - The Charger and even the 2.2 Chargers were good looking 2 doors . With the Creeder , you have a Brick of a car with a truck front end . Kind of reminds you of a Nazi military vehicle . But has it has the all important 4 doors .
Why is there a need for a performance 4 door ? Is anyone going to load their family into it and go do burnouts or blast down the interstate ?
I hope nobody is that sick . The only purpose is so men in mid life crisis can talk their wives into buying it . Then when she is not around try to attract attention in it . The car is the joke of the Automotive world and a Black eye on Dodge's  image . The car was built designed and target at the women's market as most all cars in the last 5 years . You can hang a Charger name on it , paste all the decals on it you want but it is still a joke .
I still don't know what Honda had to do with the whole Mopar thing ??? We were talking Chargers and you bring Honda into it ??? Ok whatever .
Sounds like you bash Ricers but you defend a Bling mobile like the Creeder .

Which model of new Charger are you comparing, the V6?

Quote2 - Even the 2.2 Chargers did also

Since my Honda reference went flying over your head, I'll state this simply.  I'm not impressed by power to weight ratios, unless there is actually some power.  I have an RC car that has a better power/weight ratio than my Barracuda.  Guess which car is faster?

Quote3 - The Charger and 2.2 Chargers you could make performance upgrades to relatively easily . Not the Creeder , other than some Bling wheels ,bolt on gadgety stuff . They might have a chip ? Don't know .

Odd...  I thought the 5.7 had quite a few new aftermarket parts...

Quote4 - The Charger and even the 2.2 Chargers were good looking 2 doors . With the Creeder , you have a Brick of a car with a truck front end . Kind of reminds you of a Nazi military vehicle . But has it has the all important 4 doors .

Nazi vehicle?  I fail to make the connection, unless that was a racial joke pointed towards Mercedes.  And the Omni Chargers were among the ugliest cars made in the last century.  But, since I guess it has 2 doors, it doesn't matter how ugly it was.

QuoteWhy is there a need for a performance 4 door ? Is anyone going to load their family into it and go do burnouts or blast down the interstate ?

Because alot of people like 4 doors.  I have a few friends who won't buy anything unless it's a 4 door.

Joke?  I only hear you and a handful of others laughing at it.

I'm not a fan of four door Chargers either, nice car though, but I wouldn't buy one.  I like Big Lebowski's quotes about VP Creed, Mr. Creed sounds like a real idiot.

I have no problem with the performance of the new charger. That part of it is just fine.

I really only have two complaints: the ugly 'truck' grill and the 4 doors.

If Ford were to be dumb enough to make the mustang into a 4 door ford fans would burn down the ford headquarters.

I remember when everyone (including me) just wanted to have a rear wheel drive car with a V-8...now we have that and people are still unsatisfied. I wonder of the people complaining, how many are really in the market to buy?

I'd say close to none of them (us)... at least until they change the charger into what it should be.

I guess I'll have to settle for a challenger (when the price comes down).

Ghoste

I was one of those people that wanted very much for V8 rwd to appear from Chrysler again but I never wished for it to be an ugly sedan.  If V8 rwd was the only qualifier, I'd have bought a pickup.  In any case, that isn't a slam on the folks who bought one, just a personal opinion.  The little suv goes back in 3 years and then we should be able to get a Challenger.  :icon_smile_big:

Exactly - the folks with no intentions of buying one like to complain and say that "if this was different and if that was better, I woulda bought one".

So now the Challenger is out and they start with "they shoulda done this or they coulda done that and I think $38,000.00 is waaaay to much for a V8 RWD 2 door brand new 425 hp muscle car with modern creature comforts and a factory warranty".

Khyron

I understand what your saying, but I'm one of the rare cases i guess. I could buy one, but I won't because of all the reasons i mentioned before. ugly, 4 door, etc etc.

As for the Chally. The wife loves the Charger, and her Mustang, and older cars in general. But we have an understanding that the family can only have 2 "toy" cars. Her Mustang, My Charger. If she ever wanted anything different, she needs to sell the mustang (her wedding present from me) she won't do that. If I want the Challenger, I would have to sell my Charger.

I don't see that happening.

So I will stay content is not liking the "Charger". But keep in mind, If they did it right. I would have bought one. I won't bash people that bought one. I just personally don't like the car.

well, I only pick on my friend that did buy one, so maybe i will just say I won't pick on anyone here for buying one ;)

So those of us who don't have 40K lying around the house to spend on a new musclecar don't have valid opinions?

I like the new challenger. I just can't afford it.

If someone gave me a "Free" 'Charger' I'd sell that POS and put the money into a real charger (my '68). How 'bout them apples?  :2thumbs:
