Replacing Trunk Floor

My 69 had water stand in the floor for several months before I purchased it.  The floor has rust in it---in some places the pits are pretty deep----but isn't actually perforated anywhere.  I have thought about replacing it as part of my resto project.  Actually have the same situation under the battery tray on left inner fender panel.  But back to the trunk floor.  I see that you can purchase the trunk pans in halves or a whole piece.  I do realize that you can't replace the whole thing in one piece without removing the tailpanel or quarters both of which are OK on my car.  But I was wondering if you could buy the full pan and cut some of it off and use it.  Or would you need to cut the pan out at exsiting seams?  Sort of similar question about the front left inner fender panel.  I have seen articles where this piece was taken out and replaced in full.  There must be a hundred spot welds to be cut and rewelded.  Has anyone had good success with just replacing the rusted area in the vicinity of the battery tray?  I am contemplating body panel purchases  and trying to nail down what to purchase.

i would say depending on how much and how bad the trunk and inner fender are replace only what's needed unless it's to bad replace the whole panel. as long as it's a good quality fit panel you shouldn't have any trouble just cutting out the part you need and use that without fitment issues.

I would say that with the AMD parts getting available, jank the old crap out , and replace with new all the way out to the original seems, regardless of where it is.
