Correct A/C vents for 68

It seems I've seen 68's with the A/C vents that go through each far edge of the dash and some (at least one) mounted underneath.

Which is wright? My non A/C car doesn't have holes cut for the in dash vents,

The one you saw mounted underneath was probably a dealer installed aftermarket unit.  The A/C dash metal differs from the non-A/C dash metal in respect to the side vents not being there.  There is also a center vent directly below the radio.  A different padded dash piece was used in this area as well..

I had wondered about a dealer installed A/C.

OK then. I'll need to cut holes for the side vents that I have  .

I'm still searching for the center dash pad. Allthough I think I have a vent that will work for it.
