I'm looking to buy billet magnum 500's, but there two choices. Wheel Vintiques and American Racing. I really love our member Keepats 68 Charger with the billet 500's, I think those are from Wheel Vintiques. Does anyone have the American Racing billet 500's? There is also a huge price difference as well.

They look the same to me, though it looks like the reliefs around the lug nuts are shaped differently.  On the top wheel, they round off whereas on the bottom wheel they look like they all make a circle  :scratchchin: if that makes any sense.  Does anyone know if American Racing bought Wheel Vintiques?

The black on the AR wheel looks more glossy than the black on the top wheel, but you never can tell for sure with stuff like that when looking at a picture. Lighting was probably different when each pic was taken and that would affect the way the pic looks.

Other than a diffrent manufacturers, The other difference that I noticed was that you can't get a 18x9.5 wheel from AR. The range is from 18x8 to 18x10. Would 18x10 work?   :shruggy:

I have spent alot of time finding out information on the American Racing  AR500 wheels. First of all the big price difference is because the Wheel Vintiques wheel is a solid billet piece where as the American Racing wheels are a two piece design so they are cheaper to produce, second they have had pictures and pricing out since at least this last fall but the bad news is they are not available yet, I just got an email back from American Racing on Jan 24th and they said they should be producing the AR500 wheel sometime in mid-year of 08. I was going to put the Torque Thrust type wheel on my 69 R/T Charger but since about everybody elses cars at car shows seem to have them now I am now going to wait till this summer and get the AR500's instead.

Yes they will. I run 18X10's on my car. And Mike runs 18X10's on Mr Angry.

We both run a 5.5" backspace.

FWIW the slots in the top wheel look more like the original Magnum 500s.
