I just bought a 71 Super bee that is V2 Orange, Black interior w/ Orange/black checker pleated Cloth inserts. This car is pretty rough but is restorable. I have never seen this interior before. I did see a RR on the internet that has the black and orange interior but the inserts appear to be vinyl like the rest of the interior. Front buckets were gone but the rear seat was still in it. It is faded pretty bad but noticed that the orange cloth inserts have a checker board pattern to them. Build date on the car is Sept 20th, 1970. It is a 383 auto, console car but motor, trans, rear are long gone. Anyway does anyone have any information on these cars and/or pictures of this color combination or interior alone. I would just like to see what it looks like! I posted a couple pictures!  please email me some pictures. Thanks! Jay - ljayertley@bellsouth.net

That's exactly like our member 1972Rallye has on his factory EV2 1971 Super Bee!  I would recommened PM'ing him, and I'm sure he'll be happy to help you....and provide details.  He's also a numbers cruncher guy.  :2thumbs:

I'd love to buy his car - but he said his wife won't let him sell it at any cost....I've even offered $12,000,000,000 for it, and NO deals. :icon_smile_wink:

JohnnyBee

C5XV is correct option for a '71 Bee. I have 4 of them in the Super Bee Registry. One is a "Bright White"  Exterior. The other Three are the EV2.

If you want I'll host you and the bee on the www.71superbee.com site and would like to add you to the www.superbeeregistry.com site.

Nice find!

Thanks Guys! This car is a C5XV - EV2 car from the St Louis plant. I went to get this car not really expecting it to be a real super bee. Then to see it was orange with the Black and orange interior was pretty cool. Got the car for about what a fender cost. It does need lower qtrs and the front window bed has some rust but I have a parts car here that will fix that. The floor pans all look very  good as do the frames. I did intend to buy it to sell parts but think that will change since its the car I wanted since I was 14. I have been to the superbeeregistry, the 71superbee site and so plan to register it there. I guess I need to get with you johnnybee about that. I hoped that I would find a build sheet for it but no such luck.

Also 72rallye since you car appears to be the mirror of mine is there anyway you could send me some pictures of the interior and exterior of your car. I could use them for motivation. I have 2 68 Charger 4 spds that were in line as my next projects but may get bumped down the list.  This information is great and thanks for all the help. I love the 68 -74 Chargers and currently have 7 including my 1st Charger I bought when I was 17. I came home from the Hospital when I was born in a 70 Super bee, 383 4 spd, black hardtop w/black interior, white rear qtr accent. I guess that ride got me started. Thanks! Jay

PS. Tufcat - I will sell mine to you for $12,000,000,000 and I will even throw in my dog! Well maybe I will have to keep the dog! But for a limited time I will throw in a free shammy! Act NOW!!!!! Ha, Ha

I was at the Dodge Charger Registry show in Auburn Indiana  4 or 5 years ago and someone had the info/production numbers on theC5XV  interior and other options. They looked up my car and decoded everything for me. I was hanging out with Mr. Wooten, Mr Campbell and a couple retired engineers that designed the Charger. I can't remember which one of them had all that info, guess I'm getting old. Ray

69CoronetRT - Is these just a teaser! You showed some of the interior breakdowns but did not show the C5XV or am I just blind. Just curious as to how many superbees came in the EV2, C5XV, Console, 383, Auto. Thats probably asking alot but would be great if someone had that info. I will admit that I do need to get with Mr Wooten in the Charger Registry, and the Superbee registry, since due to having 3 - 68 Chargers (2 -4spd / 1 - Auto), 1 - 71 Super bee, 2 - 73 Charger SE's, 1 - 74 Charger SE, Sunroof car. Anyway, that is good information.

superduperbee - That is a good looking car - That is what I am doing to my 73 SE. Looks like alot of fun!!!!

johnnybee - that for the info.

FJ6N96 - Couldnt let this car go, I am sure it has a good story behind it. I guess I will need to do a little research to find it. Thanks!

I did not expect this much info this quick, but it is good to have it. I do not like to cut cars up but have to admit that I did not know what to expect when I went to buy this car, since the owner listed it for $300. But when I went to see the car (I had already made my mind up this was coming home) I was suprised to find the front end parts, grilles, hood insert, steering column and tons of other parts had been taen off the car but remained in the trunk and the inside. I am one of those types of guys that always said I never come across good deals, but found you just have to talk about cars around people that may not care about them and look very hard, there still out there. This car was about an hr from my house on a road my wifes relatives live on behind a fence. I probably passed this car no telling how many times and never knew it! Keep the info coming. The more everyone gives the more I want to build this car! I've already started putting parts aside and going through what I have and what I need. The 3 biggest thing will be the hood, bucket seats and fenders. Thanks agian. Jay

Sorry, I don't have the 71 Charger O&A report. I just posted the picture to show that some of the O&A reports do include interiors and that's probably where the number of C5XV interiors came from.

Jay-
I just sent you some pics of my car.  It's very cool you mention being brought home from the hospital in a '70 Super Bee.  My first daughter was brought home from the hospital (on my birthday) in my '71 Bee.  You should have seen the look on the nurse's face when she saw what we were going home in  :o - priceless! My daughter is  now 4 and LOVES cars  :2thumbs:
