I just saw where they were looking for muscle cars, hot rods, and restored classics for the new Fast and the Furious movie. I thought I would give the people around Los Angeles the heads up. It would be nice to see a charger in that movie that doesn't get destroyed.

This link (http://www.richkingcasting.net/role_details.php?role=153) specifically says they are looking for Chargers and some other cars as well.

i figured they would have been finished filming that movie. i got a call from the transportation director about 2 months ago about cars, chargers in particular

I guess the writer's strike slowed down the progress a little.

I just sent them a few pics of my Charger. Let's see what happens.

terrible one

I wouldn't let them use my car. . . even if it's a rolling hunk of shit, think how many people will carelessly handle it, etc. You're bound to catch a scratch or 80.

I agree with terrible..  I did that once for the movie "war of the roses"  they didn't pay much, they dinged the car. and I felt like I had betrayed my car..kind of like loaning my dog to a complete stranger  :rotz: and to top it off, they cut the the scene from the movie and I didn't even get to see my car in it  :RantExplode:

The movie folks that talk you into borrowing your car are very friendly...but the guys that you drop your car off with are a bunch of snotty pricks.  :Twocents: it felt like a big mistake as soon as I my car was driving away :'(

Is that like when you go on a blind double date and you let your buddy pick first?

it's not going to matter. with a 70 being a feature car, i highly doubt they'll use a 69 as a background or accessory car. too much similarity

If they're gonna wreck musclecars (and they probably will), they're not gonna round them up like this and potentially leave a primary car-character up to chance.  This casting-call has gotta be mainly for background shots.

I'd actually love to see them revive Vinnie's 1970 Charger from the first movie.  It was too cool and died too early.

Besides, we've already got enough iconic 1968 and 1969 Chargers as it is.  Let's spread the load a little and get some more '70 Chargers in the mix.

I think that is the plan according to a website I saw about 2 months ago.

:yesnod: it is
but the person driving it/owning it this time around will be the hot chick from the 1st movie, paul's girlfriend/Vin's sister. that's gonna be SO cool!

and yeah if they're gonna kill one, make it a 70. the loop bumper seems better suited for a jump anyway, probably look better without it  :smilielol:

I think you can require that you stay with the car and drive it. Of course that only works if you have nothing but time on your hands...

I wouldnt hand my car to anyone.  Id put it in a movie if there was one being made near me, but I would be the one driving it and I wouldnt leave it alone.

NMike

i had my truck in The Fantastic 4. they had it for three days and paid me $400. they even cleaned it. (i delivered it dirty.)

kinda scary just driving up and handing over the keys to some clown. then walking away wondering when you get the call to come and get it.

Tilar

$400? My car is no where near being drivable, but for some reason I just don't forsee me letting somebody drive it around the block for $400 let alone me leave it with some strangers.
Dave

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

JR

I actually want to see the movie now.

Did anyone elese drive their Charger to the first Fast and Furious when it came out? We took my 70 on the nights when the import guys would show up and park right in front of their cars just to mess with them. It was fun.

Was it the macho powerwagon in the back ground shot?

SRT-440

I said it in the other thread (70 Charger RT drag car) and I'll say it again..somebody needs to get the nads to make a replica of Vin's charger..with a real blower and that can really pull the wheels..that "somebody" will prolly need about $50,000 to do it right..  :yesnod:
