Hey guys, there's this one house i pass by while im working each day and the front yard has a few corvettes, camaro's and a mustang just sititng there. (nothing too exciting) anyhow, imagine my surprise when i see a 72 rallye charger just sitting there! I knock on the door and a women comes to the door in her bath robe (i guess i woke her up) i told her i have a 72 charger and she asks would i like to look at it?
Well, the charger was from louisana but had california plates on it? it was orange, had the bugle hood and pretty sure it had the dual cut out valance abit rough but complete. she said it was set up to race and is abit much for the street for the moment.
I did notice it had 440 badges on the hood but i didnt get to look under the hood. I always thought 440 rallyes were quite rare in 72? Im wondering if anyone can give me a figure? (it was auto but had a b+m shifter and no console) and if its a 400, or 340 or 318 car id be interested to know the numbers as well. Im going to call the owner hopefully for a closer look if i get pics i will post them if i can thanks mike.

Just personal preferance, but I like the 72 Rallye better than the 71 RT and the 71 Bee best :Twocents:

What's the difference between a "coupe" and a "hardtop" model?

The rear windows are stationary on the Coupes . On Hardtops the windows roll down .

That was me. I love 71 R/T's, just like Rallyes better. Those doors are the coolest thing to EVER come out of Detroit, period. Has the cool tailights, in black, the way they should be, and the bulge hood. The ONLY thing Chrysler dropped the ball on for the 72 Rallye, was not putting a hood insert. Something different from the RT or the Superbee one would have been awesome....
