I know your stoked... What is that bottom car with the british plate, that a Jag or Damiler or maybe a facil vega?..  :P

Apparently that car is a 1956 "one of a kind" Maserati, priced at $2,000,000.00.    :o   Did you notice the car in front of mine? I reattached the photo. My car is in excellent company!

Guys,

...it has arrived!!!     I just got back home after taking a "cruise" with my wife and daughter down El Camino Real here in Sunnyvale, and am basking in the afterglow.   :icon_smile_wink:  Very fun. My daughter's eyes just about bugged out when I stomped on the gas pedal ( :D) and now I have to (read "need to") drive her to school tomorrow so she can show her friends.  This may be a problem if everyone is going to want rides  :brickwall: . Just kidding.   :icon_smile_big:

I've attached a few photos of the delivery. FedEx Passport did a good job with the delivery. I have no complaints at all. And the delivery guys were good car guys to talk to also!

I remember seeing that car at shows here in Texas.. I believe one of the shows over in S.A.... Nice '68 !!!!

Troy

Thank  you, Troy.

Now, the car will be picked up next week by FedEx passport and I will be having the former owners snap some photos of it being loaded.  On the off chance something unseemly happens to the car on transport I will then have a photographic record for claim purposes. What are the possible problems with having covered transportation? Top, corners, bottom frame (I'm assumming that they use a benign method to tie the car to the trailer)? I'll take any advice you can offer on photographic angles. And I'll post the photos (If I get them) when it is in transit...I know how photo hungry this board is!   :icon_smile_tongue:

Oh, and I'm getting excited again! Soon to be a California car!

Dan

beauty of a car! congrats! Let me know if you have any issues with the transport company, im fairly high up the chain at fedex and can take care of you if anything happens.

Thanks for looking out for me. The crew that delivered the car was very professional, friendly and engaging. I would use them again without a second thought.  :yesnod:

:2thumbs:  congrats Dan, sounds like your back ground checking, and asking us our opinions
worked out for the best  ;D  I am more impressed at how well of a resto he did on that car,
everytime I look at the before pictures you sent me as well as the current pics, he did a lot of work.

The original color is QQ1 Blue, have you ever thought of taking it back to the stock color some day?
if and when it needs a repaint? just one of my favorite colors, one of 68's is QQ1 blue, but not done yet..

Only thanks to you and Carl was I able to truly get the details out about this car. When we meet I will buy the first 5 rounds.

QQ1 is going to be its color, but years down the road. I want to iron out a lot of details, and I want to take my time so while it will be a while. Right now , over the next few weeks, I will be working on a to do list for it. I have a lot of old receipts from Will's (previous cartaker) restoration to go through and catalog (yep, I'm one of those ) so I will be having fun for a good, long while.   :yesnod:

I hope you cleaned out the garage for the car.  And im glad it arrived safely and that you got to drive it before the next batch of rain gets here.  There is a show up here at sears point in june.  Im not sure of the exact date but you should bring it up.

Yep, looks like a GT40 :scope:

Looks like the newer GT to me, not the GT40.

I think there are only 4 real GT40s left.  Plenty of kit cars around though.

Oh, and glad to see the car arrived without problems!  My dad had a 68 383hp 4spd car, until he sold it to a scrap yard in 1980.

Thanks. And sorry to hear about another one lost. Do you happen to have the VIN number/any history on it? PM me if you prefer.

Thanks, Paul. Have you moved components yet to the 500? If not, then when you do take some photos and make a "how to do" thread. Would be a good  read! (you've done it enough times!  :P ) :2thumbs:

Glad to see that the car made it safely to your house. Enjoy it. I know I would enjoy the heck out of a 4 speed car.
