Well,

the last time I bought a Charger (on eBay, no less), I saw it after I bought it http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,35861.msg396039.html#msg396039. One expensive road trip later I learned a valuable lesson.

Fast forward to yesterday. I flew to Texas to see another Charger, spent a good part of the day with the owners (they even took me to lunch!) and went over literally every square inch of the car. Of course included was some serious rowing through the gears   :2thumbs:. We agreed to a price, shook hands and did the deal. Here is his advertisement http://www.oldride.com/classic_cars/627030.html.

Right now I'm arranging to get it shipped to its new home, get insurance set up, and figure out how to pay for it (just kidding  ;D). The seller and his wife are great people, and I expect to keep in touch with them.

I'll post more later, but now I need to do some office work (I did goof off all day Saturday, after all   :P). For some reason it is really hard to get focused on my work right now. Really hard.   ::)

Travis, I realize that it is not 1 of 3...probably Wayne told him once upon a time that that was the number in his registry. Still, 1 of a few hundred is all right. And what mini-thread are you referring to?

it was a thread i started a while back about 383 4 speed chargers. i offered to keep a mini registry of them, and got a few VIN numbers from the few on the site who had them.. yes i figured you knew there were more than 3, was not directing the comment at you at all, and either way it is certainly a nice RARE charger indeed.

glad to see that you liked it.  Hopefully it will make it to you safely.  When i had mine shipped the car above it on the trailer developed a tranny leak so my car was covered in trans fluid.  You might want to look into an enclosed trailer for a few hundred more dollars.  What are your plans for it?

Congrats - using an enclosed trailer is the right choice - speaking from experience :yesnod:

O.K., I know how you troglodytes (look it up  :eyes: ) like photos, so I'll post the ones that are 20 years old when the previous owner first bought it (for $400!  :o). I've scanned them in and will post about 20 or so. The last ones show the engine bay, when the previous owner received the car and after some work.  :drool5:
