I called again today (Monday at 12:05 EST) and talked to the same guy that assured me they would be sent on Friday. He said he shipped on the 22nd and DID get a confirmation number on my master card. I told him that I didnt see the charge and was concerned that they had not shipped. Anyway, the assured me they had and I will have this week.

Here is what I have coming: New Stealth Heads, full overhaul gasket set including their head gaskets, billet aluminum water neck and a new fuel push rod.

As soon as I get the heads I'll post pictures with the gaskets on so we can talk about the overhang  :smilielol:. After the heads are installed all I need are new rockers (yes Ron I'm heeding your advice) and the Carb (OK Ron, the carb was your idea too).  :yesnod:

Finger's are crossed for a motor that is bolt in ready in a few weeks. By that time gas will be $4.00 a gallon so I'll be only able to drive the sled around the block!

I took my new heads to local shop to have them check spring pressure and such, they said all is well and they look good, only thing they noted was when they installed the valves they said they should have greased/oiled the guides

gordo1968charger

surely if the 440 stroker kits are top notch, the heads will be top notch as well.but i m still eager to see how they perform.

Ok From looking at the tracking number's, my heads should be here today. So, my point is that all i need to do is bolt them to the engine which is already in the car.  It shouldnt take me too long, and ill post up how the car runs with them.  ;) ;)   Oh  I forgot to mention if the roads are sloppy I wont be taking the car out, its winter here, i may have to wait a day or two. :icon_smile_big:

OK I just got my heads here is what I have found..

This pic is the ROL's fit perfect.  :2thumbs:

mally69

This pic is the 1009 fel-pro.
They fit just fine but they do get close to the edge on the left side but doesn't extrude into the chamber.

mally69

Now this pic is the  8519 fel-pro gasket..  ( this gasket is already compressed and has 3000 miles on them)
They fit fine  :2thumbs:

mally69

here are pics of the tops of the valve. They are all very close to the same hieght. And the other pic is the depth of the locks they are all seated the same distance in the heads. :2thumbs:  They look good to me I will have them installed and running tomarrow Ill post up the info.  So, do these pics help or explain anything ????????????????

Nice job Mally69  :2thumbs: Thanks for taking the time and pic's  ;D I'm sure that everyone here appreciates your efforts... I know i do  :yesnod:
I got a call from 440source the other day concerning my heads, but I wasn't at home to get the message... so I'm assuming that mine are on the way.

It looks like the gasket hangs over in the next chamber away from your finger. Or is it just my warn out monitor??  :shruggy:

The pic is a bit blurry on that side, but the gasket is right to the edge of the chamber, but doesn't hang way over like I have seen in some pics.  Ill take clearer pic today of the 1009's  and post it up before I saddle these to my engine.

firefighter3931

The ROL gaskets look to fit perfect on that set of heads....i would be pleased with that. No problems that i can see as long as all the chambers on both heads look the same.  ;)

Mally69, those pics are perfect! Thanks for posting!!!!

mally69

Yep the ROL's fit perfect. The 8519's fit also but mine were already compressed but they still fit good. The 1009's have the smallest bore size of all three gaskets  it seem's. Here are 2 more pics of the 1009's to clearify how they fit. They are basically (ride) the edge of the combustion chamber but they don't exceed into it, at least on my set anyhow. You would be best off not using the 1009's. I talked to a guy from ohio that says that he is a 440 source dealer  :shruggy:  and he told me that they made some changes on the second batch of heads compared to the first batch.

Here are 2 more of the 1009's ((The top edge is where they are the closest.))

440 Source called me yesterday and confirmed my address and credit card info.  The heads are on the way.

Steve P.

Great job with the pics. and info. buddy.  It looks to me like you "COULD" get away with using the FP-1009's in your pics.  I wonder if they really made a change or if some of the other heads had a casting shift.  Any way you look at it I have to say that whenever anyone is putting together a motor it is ALLLLLLWAYS best to mock up and check everything.

Great info. Mally.....

Natalie over at 440source finally caught up with me today ending are endless game of phone tag. Most of the stuff I ordered will be on it's way tomorrow. A couple of items from my order were out of stock at the moment, a high volume water pump (cast finish) and a valley pan. They did have the water pump in a polished finish, so their sending that one instead of the cast finish at no extra charge. They just wanted to make sure that was OK with me before they shipped it. They are fresh out of Valley Pans however.... no problem, I'm in no hurry there.

Mike ( it won't be long now )

Pic of my heads bolted on. When I bolted these on and went through the sequence to get my lifter preload and  I noticed this....  I have about 2-3 threads below the rocker on the ball end of the adjuster, but on top my lock nut has half of its threads in the adjuster instead of a full nut. Does this sound normal ?

That would be awesome if they had made their new block to work with hemi heads also!

Chatt69chgr

Their website says they are currently sold out of the stealth heads.  If you want a set, you have to get on their list for the next run.

I talked to 440source, they told me they are working on making the Mopar MEGA block, and the heads too. That is what I am waiting for!!! They said expect them late this year, or the begining of next year!!
