I have found the most cool truck ever. It was on ebay. Sadly I had no $$ or place to keep it so I didnt bid. The ultimate hauler! Truckin at its finest! Put a plate with gooseneck ball on it and you are ready to go!

Here is a pic of my first truck. Not big but was fun as hell to drive. Lots of time and money in it. Had it featured in Southern Rodder magazine in a 2 page article in 2003.

66 Chevy C10  383 Stroker, TCI 700R trans in the floor, 3:73 axle, mirrored stainless steel bed. Corvette seats with center console, power windows, disc brakes with 5 lug conversion. Lowered 2 inches in front, 4 in the rear.

It sold for 3500$.................  220 cummins non turbo with a 10 speed. Guy said it would run out at about 65mph.

This 1968 Mack belongs to a small company with about 12 trucks and a small gravel pit near our shop. They still use this truck in the pit and on the road to make small deliveries.

I know of a red one like that near me sitting on a farm and it looks to be in reasonable shape. Doesn't look used for a few years either.

Pete looks nice, Ive read a lot more good than bad on those super singles. I would like to ride in a truck with them some time to see how they ride, heard they were a bit smoother than duels and better on the fuel mileage. Not to sure about winter driving though. Other downfall is if you have a blowout your done, no limping to the truck stop.

You couldnt pay me to put the super singles on a truck. They cost about the same as two dual tires, they dont ride much better if at all according to Schneider National (thats why they took them off all of their trucks), and when one blows out, your screwed cause you can't limp to a place to have it repaired. And not all tire repair shops carry them either. I have also been told by a local guy that had them that they are not as stable either as far as making a trailer stable cause they do not have the same wide stance that duals have. And as far as I know, I dont believe they make them in a aggressive all season tread.

And, for me, I just think they are ugly.

Not sure about the width and as far as handling, but I see alot of big tanker outfits like Air Products  putting them all the way around there trucks except for steers of course. I do know they increase fuel mileage due to less side load resistance and by getting rid of the uneven tire pressure in the duals which a lot of trucks experience they provide longer tread life. I agree they are kind of awkward looking at first but if they help save a few bucks in the end they would be worth it especially in this day and age in the trucking biz. I kind of like the looks of them now.

Someone was saying the California wont let trucks in without super singles on the back now?! Something about the old duals and how they lined up with the front tires left 3 grooves of wear in the road and now the singles track on the path of the front tires cutting road wear?! Anyone heard this?

Yes, Ive heard this Todd and I think there theory is bullshit myself. I think there were a few others states in there to. I dont think they have been outlawed yet though. Figures they invent something to help a guy save a buck and the they try to shut them down.

I heard that too. Kind like putting 50's on you car, and driving in the snow. It doesn't work.

Thats what I would think to, I asked a friend of mine a while back who drives a tanker with them on the drives and trailer and he said they aren't any worse than regular duels. I look at all the Canadian companies like Robert running them now as well and would have to think he may be right. My O/O days are over for now so I wont be worrying about it but has anyone seen the prices of used trucks lately, Damn near scrap value for something nice!!
