No I dont have pictures.

Heres the deal I have a few interested partys in a Real 69 440 Car that I have.

I bought it a number of years ago to take the engine and tranny from, which I did.

I still have the #'s 440 and tranny in another car that I drive.

I will give them back the engine and tranny.

Its a green/green car its rusty but also has all the parts and trim.

I still have every original part that came off the car.

Im the second owner and I believe the car to have 65,000 Original miles on it.

It will need at least one front quarter and one back.

Generally the car is rusty, but the frame and floor panels seem to be fine.

The interior is complete and in pretty good shape.

Its a real project, but I think it would be worth it in the end.

I dont need to sell it, however I have realized with  other projects Im just not

going to get to it anytime soon.

I have the Window Sticker and the Build sheet which Ill attach to this message.

Any ballpark ideas on the value?

Just to start with I would like to get $3000 out of the engine and tranny.

Which I guess might be kinda steep. But since I have to pull it out of my car,

And build a new one, that seems far to me.

Let me know what you guys think.

very hard to say without shots of the actual ride. is $3k out of range for a #'s 440/727.. well.. not really, if the car is cheap enough and i wanted it, i'd sure pay $3000 for a numbers 440/727 to go with..

On a Side note the Coronet is for sale.

Southern Car VERY solid.

Some Glass in the trunk and rear fender.

Have all the Parts for it.

It has a Running 383 in it.

Do you have the fender tag to? Without seeing a lot of pictures and with the car being full numbers matching, and R/T , build sheet, window sticker I am going to say 8 to 10 grand. I see crap selling for that.

2Gunz

Yes it also has the fender tag.

I dont have a picture but its in good shape and is loaded with numbers.

So basicly you have a R/T with all documentation, numbers matching drive line and all the parts. Like I said without seeing pics of it 8 to 10 grand is a realistic ball park figure.

Without seeing pics I assume the worst.  Seen too many jewels in the rough turn out to be more rough than jewel.  5k.  :nana:

True. But what he has is worth more than 5 grand. I wish he had pics. Its hard to find any charger that does not need quarters, trunk, rear window, and misc work. He has the driveline and it runs solid so thats a plus.

You might be right but it sounds pretty rusty. I really don't think it's worth $8k-$10k in the current market.

bulls right, ive been watching these cars for a few years now, seemed to peak high last fall,(06) then fall off big time  as the housing market went south, unseen in person id have to agree that its worth as a project not driving capable yet, 5- 6 grand maybe 7 tops if we had some better pics of it.

3 Grand for a 440 and trans ? Matching # to the car is great but it's not worth 3 Grand without the car. Without the car it's just another 440 and 727 . If I was buying that car I'd tell you keep the Engine and Trans and knock 3 Grand off the price .

Well the engine and tranny has been rebuilt and is alive and well in another car.

It just needs to be repainted and dropped back into its original home.

I havent rebuilt a 440 lately but from what Ive seen you looking around $600 bucks for the core.

And it seem like you could easy spend $1500 rebuiding it.

So your already at $2100 and dont have a transmission.

Plus alot of this revolves around the time and energy for me to pull that motor and build a new one.

In the end its going to cost ME money to sell it.

And then maybe make a little bit of cash on the car itself.

69charger2002

you are dead on for $3000 for a basic 440/727 rebuild. i spent $1950 for a rebuilt long block 440 and $750 for a rebuilt tranny. no labor.
good luck if you sell it. hopefully someone gets it and the #'s motor and tranny. i'll admit i'm not a huge #'s matching freak, but if it's an R/T or HEMI car and has made it this long with it's original motor(pretty rare really) i say by all means keep it together if possible

i get $600-700 every time i let go of one, which isn't all that often. now i don't think anyone is referring to a 78 motorhome motor though.. hey if you're close. i'l give you $500 for every good standard bore 440 you find. how's that

Well Ill pay 600 - 1000 for a 440 and transmission  if its in California.

2Gunz

Oh and thanks Trav for not letting me think I was crazy.

Anyway I would like to sell the car to this guy.

But I want it to go complete and not lose my shirt in the deal trying to replace

an engine I already have.

If you say they are going for $600 a core , why would I sell it to you for $ 500 ?  :scratchchin:
Boy, I need to bend people over the fender a little further when I sell parts . I'm way too cheap .
