1970 coronet 2 door versus 4 door...

I am restoring a 1970 Super Bee and have an opportunity to buy a 1970 Coronet 440, 4 door with a 318.

My question is regarding certain parts swapping.  I'm curious what major parts will not fit such as fenders?  Glass?  Trunk lid?

My guess is that pretty much everything except the doors and related pieces will swap over.

I haven't had the opportunity to see this 4 door yet and would sure appreciate any info you may have as I am considering buying it sight-unseen and having it shipped to me.

Thanks in advance!

i think the roof structure (i.e. window angles) are different... but this is not from personal experience but rather from what a friend of mine stated when looking for a 68 coronet parts car and found a 4 door.  the fenders and decklid interchanged, but he said that the windows didnt? you may want to check on that.

Maybe the roof is the same and really just the quarter what includes the C pillar is diff :shruggy:

front half should it be the same, from K member, suspension, steering, body etc..., same tail panel... not sure about deck lid. Frame rails could it be the same ( talking about rear rails ).

electrical ( being same cluster ), practically sure is the same, just options more or less, but normally they are just plugged to add on harnesses.

then, front winshield and probably vent window glasses... not sure about rear windshield ( don't think so ).

This is all good news however...

The 4 door I have found is in excellent condition, low mile original everything.  I'm having a very tough time deciding to use this as a parts car.

It just doesn't seem right!

Thanks for all your help.

The entire roof greenhouse is different from the pillars upward.  The 4dr roof is taller, wider, extends farther back on the cabin, etc.  Window glass is different of course.

The backseat/shelf area of sheetmetal below the rear window is different too, although the wheelwells & floor beloew them are the same.

The engine compartment, dash/cowl, firewall, and the underside of the car is basically all the same.

Gee, with all the mopar righteousness going on in the world, I would have expected a lot of anti-parters offering their opinions in this thread.

Hey, I'm not telling him to whack it.   But I don't really blame him and he's probably made up his mind.
