Yeah I know what you guys mean.  When I saw the car on the internet I was excited too.  Heck, I even drove 5 hours to get it.  Know of anyone that wants the running motor out of it?   It's the matching numbers motor and trans too!

It's a bench seat/column shift car.

Well, I have to get to bed.

I will post more pictures tomorrow.  Don't lose sleep on this car guys.  As much as I would want to sell the car, I am still "thinking"  of parting it out.

hint:  ever hear two sides of the story?

Honestley, it seems like a great project. Why would you part it out? Theres somebody that wants to buy it and restore it and you wanna kill it. Why? Thats the question....WHY!?!? :shruggy:

dude just sell steve the car. why part it out.. even if you got a few extra bucks doing it that way, think of the extra work you'd have to do stripping it/versus letting a member here have it and enjoying it.. or putting it back on the road which is the whole goal of playing with these cars right??

And truthfully, the numbers matching 318 and trans are not all that valuable even running.  It's best served left in the car.

and.. you got a PM from me too, but since Steve spoke up first, he gets first dibs in my eyes.. awaiting you response on the price though :D

I agree. Its better to sell the car than to part it out. Let Steve enjoy the car and bring it back to the road instead of selling the parts and doing who knows what with the shell. :Twocents:

I think he already knew what he was going to do and was looking for the approval he didn't get.

Just like  with the 3rd Gen bumper fillers he was going to make. :slap:
Why ask a question and then do the opposite. Why are ya' yankin' cranks chargerkid? :scratchchin:
Now everyone wants to restore this Charger and chargerkid says na', I am parting it out anyway after everyone wants it. That is like teasing people and this whole damn thread is going to start fights. :Twocents:

Then it'd be a shame to part it out.  Somebody out there wants to restore that car.
:iagree:

Unless the frame is junk, it would be a shame to part it out. There are a lot of people out there that would make a perfect starter project. Hell, I wouldn't mind the car. Seems 90% of us think it should be sold in one piece.

So the agreement on here is that if the car meets the following criteria to not part it out:

Frame rails are good
title

I have been doing these cars for a very long time.  I think alot of people jump to the conclusion that they can restore a car.  There are so many other aspects when looking at a car to buy.  No one here has asked about the rest of the car.

I have two 72 rallyes that would be alot better to restore than this car.  No one has stepped up to the plate to buy those two cars.

I bought the car in the early Spring.  The internet ad displayed the picture of the passenger side like the one posted at the beginning.  I asked so many questions regarding the car when I called. I asked about the condition of the quarter panels.  He said the one side had slight damage.  All I can say iit was treemendous when I picked it up.

Did I spell that right?

Brian..BMOTOXSTAR...at least I am not selling parts to someone and they are the wrong parts.  Why don't you help pay the rest of the CASH to help complete the production costs?  Getting tired of your blah blah blah.

Ghoste

So why wouldn't you tell the whole story from the very beginning?  If the other side of the car has hit a tree (that is what you're implying, right?), then why wouldn't you just show that?  Seems to me your mind should have been already made up shortly after you bought the car, or is this thread a prelude to a lecture about ALWAYS looking at a car before you send money away?

I still can't figure out if this should be moved to cars for sale, or parts for sale?  :shruggy: I mean the car is for sale...or at least parts of it...right?

This has been a well done for sale ad. You managed to get top shelf exposure and fly under the radar. Props to 'ya  :2thumbs:

then move it.. I don't have to advertise it.

I'm not sure of that even Chris.  It's more like a parable or something isn't it?

Here is the point.  You can ask all the questions in the world.  But people are not honest when describing the cars.  Driving 5 hours one way to find the car was a disaster wasn't a good experience.  The guy wasn't going to disclose the info about any damage unitl late in the conversation.  I asked about the conditon about the driver side.  Then finally the guy said a "small" tree fell and just got the quarter and decklid.  Said it can easily be fixed.. Doesn't it look more than that?  Yeah I told the guy it wasn't what he described.  So we did negotiate and I managed to get a better deal.  It would be like me trying to sell this car to you guys in the CLASSIFIED ad showing just the good side and not telling you about the damage.

Ghoste

So you bought it nearly a year ago, you did see it first and now you're disappointed?  Sorry, I can't follow your logic, I haven't been up long yet this morning so I'm still kind of foggy. :shruggy:

chargerkid

I bought it in the Spring.  I am just pulling it out of the barn and was recalling the experience.  Sorry that I didn't post it back in the Spring.

Ghoste

Okay, I get that reliving part.  Why did you buy it if it's that bad?
