Just found this older thread.  I have a 69 Charger that will have a 440 Stroker in it.  I want to put an emblem on the door in the vein of the Hemi Badge, but thinking of 440+6, or 512+6.  I remember seeing a vendor at the Indianapolis MOPAR show 2 or 3 years ago who designed custom emblems.  Anyone know who it was, or if anyone else is doing this kind of work?

Mike

I'm glad you revived this thread Mike!  I got side tracked with engine upgrades shortly after this thread died and frankly, forgot about it.  I was at a GoodGuys show in Spokane today and started asking around.  I was given the name of a company in Beaverton, Oregon called "CON2R" www.con2r.com.  I just got off the phone with them and they are going to call me on Monday or Tuesday with a quote.  I'm sure it will be pricey, but he said that they were starting to go after the onesy twosy type stuff, so we'll see.  I'll post what info I have when I get it.   Bob

Well, I just got the quote.  I can have two badges made for the bargain basement price of $1,500.00.   :o   I think I'll try to make my own.  Bob

After you get 440 badges on your fender the question changes from "What engine do you have?" to "Does it really have a 440 in it?"

"This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold..." -- Numbers 7:84 KJV

Would the Badges from like A Dodge Coronet 440 ( The model, not engine) work? That's always a possibility too..
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own. I resign. -Number 6, The Prisoner

I was thinking of doing the same thing.I think I saw a pair of them on Egay.In my case,I took a pair of R/T emblems and put them on my rear quarters instead of the strips. Not politically correct for a 68 but it looks awesome on my white Charger! Do what makes you happy!

Brass

I bought a pair of brushed "440 Magnum" emblems off ebay but I'm not sure I'm going to use them.  (I was hoping they'd look close to what R2 has on his doors.)  They seem a little big and would require drilling.
When they came in the mail, my girlfriend said "Wow, jewlery for the Charger..."   I could have taken that to mean something else but her enthusiasm was obvious.  ;D

I put mine on the car.  :2thumbs:
(No drilling)

I just ordered a couple out of the mopar performance catalog.  It's just a plain 440 tag that went on the hoods of the 69 GTX/Coronet R/T and SuperBee hoods.  should look good!  Bob

Well I got them and their on.  I like how they look, but was disappointed with the quality.  I put them on with mastic so had to cut off the pins.  I had to be very careful and use a dremel tool to do the cutting.  They are made out of aluminum and are very fragile.  The casting is not perfect and the '0' tilts out about 1/16" from the other numbers.  I had to break it off and glue it on separatly to make it work on the drivers side.  The flat black paint used for the accents flakes off if you look at it wrong.  Other than that, I love em!  What do you guys think??  Bob

hard to tell from the pics but they look small,..
I always thought about painting huge 7.4s on the quarters ahead of the doors to scare the crap out of the mustang kids...

looks great

Thanks!  They are a little smaller than I was thinking, but I like the look.  If they were much bigger they wouldn't look like they belonged there.  Bob

Brock--I'm not sure except for the bottom one.  That's from the 1st generation Chargers.  A few others here have used those, and they even show up in the '68 FSM, but I just wanted a plain 440 emblem.  Bob

Custom does not always equal good (see below) but I think what Bob did is subtle and attractive.

Looks good RECHRGD.
My car had holes already drilled from the previous owner,,,,
I wish i could have used something smaller like the ones you put on....
I used some 2 sided tape,,,and the emblems cover the holes,,and prevent any water entry,,,(that was my biggest concern),,,

I dont have any good, close up photo's.....

Hitman,  I got these out of the mopar performance catalog for $45.00 ea..  I would never have paid the $1,500.00 for the custom ones I was thinking about having made.  Bob
