Johntpr with the F6 Daytona, had his brother make up some magnetic Hemi door emblems on a goof.....maybe you can do the same ....make them magnetic?

That would be much better than drilling holes, obviously. The only thing about magnets is getting the particles stuck to the back that scratch the paint.

I would just put them on with the same mastic that is used on modern cars to attach emblems.  You can always heat them up and remove them if you wanted.   Bob

Yea, I'm going to do it.  I'll just do some research to find out the proper measurments and find a good local fabricator to make them.  Bob

Thanks UFO !  So it looks like they are on a slight upward angle, right?  I never realized that.  Bob

Yes there's an angle to them.
The letter section is raised slightly as well.

Ghoste

Isn't there a slight bow to them end to end as well?

UFO

Hey Hitman,, How's this for a tease  LOL

HITMAN 149

Ghoste, I put a straight edge against the face its flat.Against the rear its got a very slight bow,a millimeter or two at the most.

Ghoste

I thought there was.  I have one stuck on my toolbox and I was sure there was a small gap along the back edge although just going by my poor memory I thought it was more than that.  No big deal then.

Maybe I am a little late here, but...
I have looked for the exact same thing, especially when i am a bigger fan of the 440 than the hemi.
I looked for emblems to put on the door where the HEMI emblem sits on the -68.

Then I found this good looking 440 MAGNUM emblem that was said to come from the 67 Charger?
I bought it and was happy.

Then one day when I red in my 68 service manual, I stumbled over this:

:2thumbs:

...now...why doesnt the book show a pic of the square hemi emblem?

A cool idea but I just like for the other guys to guess whats under my hood.
"Remember when I said this car was death proof? Well that wasnt' a lie-this car is 100%death proof- only to get the benefit of it honey you really need to be sitting in my seat"...

Different is good.

For the record, when we were putting the stripes on the car someone came in the garage and asked "What engine does this have it it"  :scratchchin:

So the number doesn't always help ;)

Just because something appeared in the graphics manual doesn't mean that it ever appeared on a car. The way the page is shown on the picture may hide a CANCELLED stamp. I have never seen a production Charger with that emblem nor any other emblem except HEMI.

PocketThunder

I was going to catch up with the times and make a 7.2L emblem for my Charger doors.  or is it 7.3L now, lets see, 440, 0.40 over =  :scratchchin:  :shruggy:

The 2nd gen fsm's also have pics in them that clearly depict portions of a 1st gen.  I think some of those drawings were less about prefect representation than they were general trim placment.

Nope, no cancelled stamp in my book. ;D
And there is no drawings of the first gen, its second gen all the way.

So it prolly was an option.
Once I have seen the V8 emblem on...but I have never seen the 440 magnum or 426 hemi emblem on any picture.
The square hemi emblem though is quite common.

Check your drawings for rear 1/4 panel ornamentation.  That for one sure looks like a 67 with 68 taillights to me.  There is also a disclaimer in the front of those manuals and parts catalogs that lets Chrysler off the hook for any mistakes inside them so until I see some documented survivors with those emblems I'm not going to put any faith in them being available just because the service manual portrays them in a line drawing.  Hell, the 70 fsm has a line drawing of a 68 grille to show where the vacuum actuators go for the headlight doors.  :shruggy: (of couse they also have pics of the electric motor placement on another page so all is well)

Yea, and it's not always the guy's fault who's asking. I remember back when I was a kid and first asked about one of those stupid Olds 442s. Every other muscle car in the country at the time that had numbers on it somewhere was advertising the engine size. Not that thing.

Just found this older thread.  I have a 69 Charger that will have a 440 Stroker in it.  I want to put an emblem on the door in the vein of the Hemi Badge, but thinking of 440+6, or 512+6.  I remember seeing a vendor at the Indianapolis MOPAR show 2 or 3 years ago who designed custom emblems.  Anyone know who it was, or if anyone else is doing this kind of work?
