Ok, I am still happy man but this may change that mood. At a show I was at a 70 427 Nova with a odd look duale quad intake? Found the owner and asked him "is that a blower intake with two 4 barrels"? Answer was yes it is and we stated to talk. He ran a Little feild 8-71 Blower (did not ask if it was raced prepped with wipers and he had no idea if it was under or over driven).

He started to tell me about stuff I hope I have cover then key way on the crank came up. Told me you need two key ways cut in the cranks so you don't break the key off? :'( God, with as many hacks, opps shops that have worked on my 440 all knowing it was going to be a Blowen 440 someone should have caught it? Leo Supercharger's should have caught it if that was a problem, he did the lower drive.

If he goes Opp's, well after he is buried the Blower will go on E-bay and the blower cam. Do more more head work on the heads, get a new intake and make 500 HP the save way.

you should be fine , you will not be making as much power / boost as tyhe one I built & we had a single keyway , Chevs are always weaker

All the blower people I contact mention that first?  I don't know of anyone that has not told me that.  Strange how no one caught that along the way.  I have been told you can go with out but most wont risk it becasue if you over twist wellll.... :rotz:

It depends on the application. A Big stroker hemi with a 1071 and 15 lbs of boost should probably be double keyed. A mild iron headed 671 won't need it. My friend with the blown Coronet runs a single key and has for years....671 blower and 10psi of boost. We assembled the rebuilt engine recently and the keyway in the lower hub looked fine. Don't sweat it Ken   ;)
