Tail lights whats wrong?

When I got my Charger the tail lights worked (except one of the hood (probably just bulb). At some point all the turn signals stopped working. The rear tail and low valance ones both flash when hazards are on. I checked all the fuses, all work. Then I stared tracing from the fuse box back, presto I found an in line fuse (10A). I thought for sure this would be my problem as the fuse was blown. I put in another one (it was new but looked funny, cap was crooked) but it did not work, went and bought some more 10's. Went to take out the 2nd one put in and it was blown too. Then put in brand new 10, nothing. have not looked to see if that blew also. So maybe it should be a 20 A as all fuses in fuse box are 20 except the one little 3A.

What else would be causing it to blow? I did also change the flasher pod, that was not it. Any help please I am lost on electrical.

Sorry meant to say Turn Signals, not tail lights, having trouble with all 6 turn signals.

the turn signal switch in the column may be the problem , they can short & blow the fuses , using a 20 amp couldn`t hurt but I highly doubt it will fix the problem , the cheapest source for the 69 charger is year one , standard still makes the 70 up switch part # TW7 & it is available from NaPA etc

Thanks, do you think the switch is dead or maybe just not connecting right? I was told take it all apart and clean the connections and bend out the prongs, worked for another guy I know. But if it was that don't think it would blow the fuse, right?

I seem to have the same problem you (had).  Where did you find the inline fuse?  I look at my fuse block behind the door in the glove box - there are six fuses in there, all labeled.  There should I be looking for the 10A inline fuse on the car?

I am not sure if it is supposed to be there or was added for some reason, if you follow the wire from the fuse block that supplies turn signals (got to get on your back and have your head up under dash as much as possible and a flashlight), about 12-18" from the fuse block I found the inline fuse. Maybe someone else knows if that is standard or was added. Let m eknow if you find on ein yours.

the inline fuse was not a factory piece , it was added when a problem arose later on
