I liked & always watched Speed Racer as a kid, but absolutely hated the small, annoying, smart ass kid & his friggen' monkey that would always hide in the trunk to tag along. Just ONCE I was hoping to see Speed just leave the kid & the monkey & not save their asses.    :D

The movie will probably be goofy, but I know I'll have to see it with my daughter.  :lol:

I am SO there!

Screw Superman...when I was a kid, I wanted to be Speedracer.  Besides, Any movie starring John Goodman and a Monkey has to be good.

That looked weird.  Over-stylized.  Live-action actors & sets, but then it's paired with video-game-ish driving footage? 

I expected some CGI racing scenes, but they weren't even trying to make that stuff look real.  It might as well have been driving footage lifted from "Super Mario Kart."

it's probably cause i'm older but Speed had a much bigger influence on me then the Dukes ever did... my best friend Perry and i used to sit around building our model cars (in particualar I remember a Revell Triumph Chopper) and watch speed and the bannana splits... those were the days... I remember The Jackson Five's ABC was the new No 1 hit on the radio then and i was learning American Woman on the guitar, and my newest albums were Grand Funk Railroad and Funkadelic's first.
