Did they just sell me two right side torsion bars?

Hey I just purchased a set of MP Torsion Bars 1.22 inch that are part #P5249162. Both bars have the same numbers on one end of each and that is 462R / 489

Did they just sell me two Right Sided torsion bars?      Each bar has the same label part #P4532462

I believe you got two rights. One should have the "R" stamp and one the "L" stamp.

Stock replacement bars are indeed designed for right & left placement in that the front & rear hex
ends are offset from each other.  The performance bars, however, are not usually offset from end
to end - thus making them usable on both the left & right sides.  Only 1 part number per diameter
has ever been published by DC & MP that I am aware of.

It shouldn't be hard to check whether you have an offset from one end to the other.  Just line up
a four foot strait edge with one of the six hex points on one end and  swing it over till it is parallel
with the bar.  If a point on the opposite hex end lines up with it, it is bidirectional and therefore
useable on both sides

Yep I just found out that the larger performance torsion bars use the same bar for both side! Nice! Now I dont have to take them back and ruin the good deal I got on them.
