I personally would not replace the pads because of the stitching. The just dashes pads while not "correct" still look great, and you will more than likely be buying several sets of originals trying to put together a nice usable set.  If anything I would wait till the repro pads from BE&A become available.
I spoke to mike at BEA the other day about these as I am waiting for the repros as well, the test set did not fit right so there modifying the tooling so they will be a few more months yet.

bzabodyn

I would think this would be an easy enough fix when the repros are available... a small compromise to get the car done.  We've spent a small fortune through BE&A so I know if the more correct ones would have been available, we would have went with them...

Pics/Progress keeps coming!

Vinyl top installed - starting to install stainless trim pieces - headliner initial install complete (still need light dome, etc) - good progress for a day!  It's REALLY starting to come together... By the end of the week we should be looking at mechanicals!

Thanks! I was thinking the same thing, but I'm sure Larry has it figured out (he's a small guy, btw)...

More pics today! Rear-end assembly being installed - still have the details/markings/tags to do, but it's coming together - they hope to work on the K-member tomorrow!

Looks great Brandon......... They are going to shot the taillamp panel black, no? I just ask for I see the taillamp lenses positioned and the panel should be painted with them out to get the proper coverage in the lens opening....

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Thanks guys!

I know they restored the original lights, but they also ordered repros just in case they didn't come back perfect - I think those are the original taillamps...

They are just mocked up and will be removed for tail panel to be sprayed...

More pics of assembly/detail work - steering assembly/k member/suspension/etc up front, and tail panel treatment out back (everything that went out to the chrome guys hasn't made it back yet)... next week should be a good week - the heart should finally be back in the beast!!! (you can see it in the background of one of the pics)

And yes, the engine is going to go in from the top - they have a k-member stand and they had another engine setup together and ready to go for an M-code Dart, but since my project kinda got pushed ahead of it, they are going to go the other route to keep things moving along - fine with me...

Still progressing toward completion!
