Lower Buy it Now price + higher shipping price = Same price for buyer but less Ebay fees for seller.

But that is probably not the case here since the insertion fee doubles from $24.99 to $25.00. So I'm thinking 1Hot68 is right.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

:yesnod:

It usually works the last few minutes of the auction.  It is a $50 coil and when someone sees 25 bucks for a buy it now they pull the trigger without checking the shipping price.  That is like the idiots that post a buy it now for .01 cent with 49.99 shipping cost

bull

Someday I swear I'm going to do an auction for something fairly valuable, say a pair of nice 2nd gen Charger arm rests or something, and set the BIN at $1 with $80 in shipping charges just to see what happens.

There is a link on the bottom of the page to report listing violations. One choice is overinflated shipping. The 25.00 charge probably isn't justified as too much....they just nab the real ridiculous ones.

There are some guys, even from this website , that inflate shipping. What are you going to do ? It's just a buyer beware thing.

I reported to the ebay customer support. Got this "probably" auto reply:

Thank you for taking the time to report this listing for violation of our Excessive Shipping Charges policy.  We are working hard to combat the practice of excessive shipping chargeson eBay and very much appreciate your help in identifying sellers who you believe are charging excessively for shipping. Please continue to report these types of listings to us. We can only clean up this problem by working together. Regards, The eBay Community Watch Team

Maybe won't get results on this specific auction but I think is something to do about it. I just let it go and keep watching

Low price + high shipping = free money from idiots.

When they figure it out and want their money back,  they get refunded the purchase price but not the shipping.    No loss for the seller.

Aside from that,  if I was the seller and had somebody from South America bothering me about shipping charges I'd change my auction to say U.S. only.   I get enough hassles trying to ship stuff for work to Brazil, etc.    They usually end up cancelling 2 months later after the shipment has been sitting in some warehouse in Miami.
