I have a dumb question....,do they do that on 3rd gen, too???

Ghoste

Not sure of the locations on a 3rd gen but if anything, they likely have more numbers hidden around them.  Cars built today have them all over the place.

On 3rd gens, the body numbers are on the rad support and on the cowl under the hood seal on the driver's side.  You MIGHT also find a body model code on the trunk weatherstrip lip by the rear window.  It would say something like WH23 or WL21.  I remember finding one on a '73 I had years ago...

My car also does ahve a VIN number tag below the package tray, on driver side corner. Dunno if also up there
