Hey, I had a 70 charger 500 export car a few years ago. I am trying to find pics of it and will post them when I do. The vin was XP29C0. The car was a slant six 3 on the tree. The car was great colors too. It was FE5 with a white interior. It had a clock delete plate and was a radio delete car. It had Buckets with no console. I talked to a guy at MCG and he told me it would be a VERY low production car. I was also told that with the colors and the options it could easily have been a 1 of 1 car. I was told that if I built it stock. People would walk by HEMI cars to look at this one. He then informed me that when it came time to sell it. I could get alto more out of it if I cloned it to a 440 R/T.   There is a very interesting story to the car as far as how I came to own it and what happend to it. But lets just say I don't have it anymore and it resides in Pocotello, ID.   I will say that I hate Liers and theifs.  But I just thought you all might like to hear about a real rare car.

Just because it is rare does not mean it is worth money.

i sold a 70 charger 500 /6 car not 3 months ago.. it went for $3850.. it was a project but 1 of 28 as built.. before you break down options etc.. not hard to get down to 1 of 1 with those cars.. for instance mine was the ONLY one built with door edge moldings.. but nevertheless cool story, we'd sure like to know the rest of it you're teasing us with

Did your car have the Radio delete plate and the Clock delete plate?

It is kinda a long story, But I found the car in Preston, ID. I tried to buy the car for a short time then the OWNER (remember that) agreed to trade it to me for a dodge truck I had(A real cool 78 4x4 short bed Adventurer sport, Fact 440 auto sun roof, Tilt, Cruise, A/C, all the trim it could have, Supposedly very rare as well but also VERY rusty). So I did the trade and took the car home. It needed lower quarters and someone put a crappy sun roof in it. But other than that it was not bad. I was not shore what to do with the car and I had a friend (Brian Hathaway, DO NOT DEAL WITH) up in Idaho Falls that wanted the car. Well, I was working a deal on a 68 R/T down in Ogden, UT so I figured I would trade it to Brian for a car that He had (66 Coronet 2dr and lots of other parts(when I got the car he kept the Vin tag off of it and the fender tag as well as other stuff)). The agreement was, Since he was going back stock with it. That when he put a 8 1/4 rear back in it, I get the 8 3/4 sure grip back. Well, He sold it. But you know that thing called Carma?  It came back and bit him in the ass hard. The guy (OWNER) I got the car from had stolen it back in the early 90's or sometime. No, I did not get a title, He said it was lost. When Brian tried to get a title in Idaho. It came back stolen. The guy that owned it back in the day wanted it back. So needless to say. Brian no longer has the car. Kinda serves him right.   As for the 68 R/T, Thats a bad story in its self. I knew it was going to go bad as soon as I saw the guy.  Lots of shady people in this hobby.

that sucks dude.. really bad. by the way oddly enough mine had an 8 3/4 rear, it did have the clock delete(most base model chargers did in 70).. but it did have an AM radio, was not a delete.. it was one of the few with A/C, it was B5 blue with B5 interior.. also it was one of the few buckets with auto on floor console

sounds like a cool car. Would have been fun to cruise with. Someone put a pre 67 poly 318 in mine.  What a pile of crap it was. Now I am into Super Bees.  I got burned allmost every time I touched a charger. I am going to try and buy my friends EV2 4spd ac bee.  Its a project,  But that is what I want.

Man, another 70 500 /6 Charger comes out of the woodwork!  Do you happen to have the VIN # on that one anymore?  I am trying to keep track on all of the 70 /6 Chargers that I hear about.  Just wish I could have afforded the one that Trav sold earlier this year (finishing college comes first :icon_smile_blackeye:).  I hope that it went to a good home.......

lol it did and it didn't. the guy was a great guy and was very stoked to have the car. but he is NOT making it a /6 car, it willl end up being an R/T clone as i'm sure most of them did back in the day.  oh well. it's his car

That is all very true. Rare and exciting to see, but worth much more with a crate Hemi stuffed into it. Sad but true.

Look forward to seeing the pics and tag.  :yesnod:

Well, it is his car and he is at least restoring it.  Maybe in the future it wil get returned back into the factory combo.  I know of another base model that was sold on ebay for use as a Daytona clone down in Califonia a few years ago.  I am beginning to think that if I wait long enough, my car might become the last 70 /6 Charger that actually has the /6 under the hood..........

I know I've mentioned this one before but when I was in college I had a 1970 Charger that was a 225/6 car with a 3 speed manual tranny. It was FM3 with tan interior. Not exactly my first choice of color combinations. But I was 18 and in college and wanted a Charger, and it was the first one that I could afford. Only problem was that the day I bought it and drove it home, a guy offered me $800 more for the car due to it being a factory FM3 car. So I sold it, that same day. $800 is $800 and to a college student that was a huge profit for not really doing anything other than driving a car. I have a few photo's of the car from when I went to look at it, and one of these days I'll find them.

R4 unkwown at this time? By who? R4 is the color of the body, and the roof. Its listed 2 times to signify that the body and the roof are both R4 red. Also signifying that the car is not a vinyl top car.

The A33 is the axle package.

The location as well as the numbers on the tag, signify which part it is refering to.

A 440 4 speed Daytona, that is R4 red, with white interior. Would be a nice looking car. I believe it to be 381535 for the VIN anyways.
