Hi everybody! We have been in the packing mode for awhile now and many of you know it's from Tennessee to Las Vegas area. We are renting a Penski Truck and Trailer, and have our personal truck and boat being driven by our buddy Josh!

Question is: What is the best car cover that we don't have to order and wait forever to get? We probably are going to hit some bad weather along the southern route so we want our baby covered. :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy: Help !!!!

Is the trailer an open trailer I take it? You would in my opinion be better off without a cover. As a cover will flap in the breeze at any speed on a trailer. And then the cover rubs on the paint, and in my opinion causes more damage than any rain or dirt that your car would encounter on the way.
Dirt washes off, as well as water spots. But a bare spot in the paint can be a pain.

Car is almost ready for paint, so it's primer!!!! We don't want to get it wet! (Open Trailer)

You would have better luck with visqueen and duct taping it.  No car covers that I am aware of are waterproof.  Kim

We also want to keep people from knowing what's on the trailer, as to avoid a theft at a motel we might stop in with our kids. ("Although I will be packin!!!!"  :2guns: :nutkick: :ricky:) Hahaha! Seriously not kiddin! I'm a dam good shot!!! :icon_smile_big:

Get a big roll of the black plastic that shippers use to wrap around pallets, etc...
A person I know did that, he was moving from Ohio to Tennessee. :yesnod:
It is like a black Saran Wrap. Sounds funny but it worked.  :2thumbs:
He put a cheap car cover on his car then wrapped it up with that wrap. I will try to find the picture.
The car cover was soft, like cotton, so it did not rub the paint, the wrap kept the cover against the car and  repelled the rain.Plus it was all camo, stealth looking so no one could see his car, except for the body outline. :icon_smile_big:

What about shrink wrapping it like a boat?
Little pricey but it would do the job.

Good luck on the move.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

That's what I did.

Be careful though. Some of that stuff stuck to the car. It was no big deal in my case as it was all going to be media blasted anyway.

When we moved, we tarped the front windshield and that was it. Mind you though, it was only on the trailer for about 3 hours.

That's what I was about to suggest. Just look over the tarp to make sure there's no holes in it.

That's what I did.
