What or where (on broadcast sheet) determined which 69 Chargers got the large front bumper guards and which got the small ones?  For some reason (to me) it seems like all the 69's with A/C have the large set. Maybe a coincidence.

JimShine

From what I gather, it is more a timing issue.

Ghoste

Yeah, I thought the switch to the bigger bumperettes came later in the build season.

You are correct, it was a mid year change.  My 69 charger built May 9th has the longer style front bumperettes.

Oh, ok. That makes sense.  Mine was built May 6th.

Ghoste

My 69 had the small ones and it was an April 16 build date.

Wow, that must have been a real late year change if it came after 4/16.  You figure 3 1/2 mos of production cars got them about then.  Good thing I have a spare set of NOS ones.

My 69 was made on June 20th...so it should have long ones?

Of course, I wasn't the original owner either, I cannot be sure that one of the two before me didn't change them out.  Actually, I'm 98% sure the second owner didn't change them because he's been a good friend for many years and I knew him when he bought the car.  Never met the original owner though, so...
