Yeah, I'd like that except my motor even though #'s matching original has been rebuilt. And Built. It's very loud & very fast. I tossed the 850 holley double pumper dual feed because it interfered with my Coil, Distributor & dual snorkel air cleaner & replaced it with a 800 Edelbrock performer carb. Looks stock & original under hood but far from it. As a Result I run 110 octane @ $5.00+ a gallon & probably get 5 miles per gallon. As a result any Power Tour Cruise would become quite exspensive. I could take my 318 2 bbl 1972 Bengal Charger, that should be good on gas. Also, Sorry if my earlier comments seemed insulting. LEON. :scratchchin:

Thats a nice unrestored Hemi Car you got there :2thumbs: LEON.

Man, thanks for throwing me under the bus like that guy's. All I'm trying to do is represent the car as best I know how. I use big pictures, tell everything I absolutely know about the car, and I'll concede the term "survivor" may not have been the best adjective to use. Low miles is more appropriate when describing this car. I even updated my listing to appease all the folks that think I'm a bum. I'm not a close minded individual and I'll learn from this. Let me make this clear though, I'm not a crook, and I do not sell bondo bucket junk cars that can't be driven. I'm 29 years old and I got started in this hobbie when I bought a piece of crap 69 Charger General Lee that was suppose to be the stuff for $25,000. After that fiasco I started building my own, and I'd rather drive a bucket car of a cliff than pass it along to some else.  We've built the Hemi Charger in the picture, we built the Hemi Challenger in the description, but this car feels so different and drives so well I'm still in awe. I buy, sell, and trade cars to support my habit, because it is an expensive. Call me a bum, call me an idiot, call me anything you want, but you'll never call me a crook. I used to think a a lot of this forum, but I think considerably less of it know. Thank you to the individuals that diffended me. To everyone else, well, maybe we'll get the chance to meet at a Mopar show one day. I'm not a genius, but I have figured out how to own some kick a$$ cars, and make a little bread on side too. Cheers

You must have misinterpreted what the others were saying, they were saying "Wow, this guy is cool & has a cool car, I wish this guy was a member on our board."  :D

Welcome to the site.

hey charge69. where are the pinstripes around your scallops from?..   :shruggy:

charge69

I don"t know when they were put on! I bought the Charger in 1976 and am the 3rd owner and they were on the car then and looked as old as the original paint. The fellow I bought it from was a friend of my brother's and had owned it since 1971. Probably a Dealer installed thing, but who knows. All I know is I am soooooo glad the car was relatively untouched when I got it except for normal wear items and tuneups!

Very Cool.  :2thumbs: It didn't take long for these cars to get modified, so I'll bet the 1st owner went out and bought some pinstripes to make the car look a little more to his liking.  :shruggy:

I think it adds character for being unrestored  :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:  I had (*roughly) 437 stone chips that I've lovingly touched up on my '67! :icon_smile_wink:

Hey TUFCAT, I really like your '67 Coronet!  Looks really nice for the original paint!

Totally not a survivior, but it is one very, very nice charger.  Maybe, if you didn't try to lie to the mopar crowd (who are very anal) then maybe you can meet your reserve.  Maybe, when you relist the car you can be honest and get more money for it.

Good luck, dude

Maybe but I doubt it. If anyone knows Chargers they can see the obvious and then bid what they think it's worth. It is eBay though and it could sell for 50% more the first time.....or 50% less....depending on who is in the market or got a lump of money at the right time :Twocents:

nope that's NOT the ad, the one i remember looks to be on the salt flats in utah and has a '69 Hemi or two red and white with the obvious pin stripes... i've seen this ad many times but couldn't find it though i spent nearly an hour looking for it.. did find a bunch or really cool other stuff though,.. I love Google!

bill440rt

I think we all can agree that the Charger in that eBay ad, although very nice & presentable, is not a Survivor.

Just to shed some light on this, the following is the criteria set forth for Mopar Survivors by Mel Major, the founder of the organization:

"CRITERIA:     UNRESTORED/UNRESTIFIED MOPARS at least 25 years old. 80% each, of the paint, interior, and drive train must be as "factory installed or applied". It does not mean repainted to the correct color or rebuilt to the original specifications."

Furthermore: "...Maintenance and normal repairs are acceptable as well as minimal accident repair. Component replacement; such as belts, hoses, exhaust, tires, etc. is expected.

To maintain a high quality display, we recommend replacing components with similar items such as correct tire type and size, correct battery, stock appearing exhaust, correct hose clamps, Mopar belts, etc."

Hope this clears the air for sure.
Brock, no offense but I have no idea what your response has to do with this topic.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I'm not sure what that last comment had to do with the Survivor Topic? :shruggy:

It is simple.  Linda Carter looks as hot now as she did 30 years ago and she has probably been untouched as well, which makes her a survivor :nana:

I see no problem with derailing a thread with great Linda Carter pics. :icon_smile_tongue:
