My friend bought a new 07 Ford Truck last Friday evening. By the time he brought it by it was dark. As it was sitting in my drive I noticed the drivers side door was off some and didn't fit like a new truck should. He went back Sat and they said they will try to adjust it later in the week. He brought it back by yesterday and I noticed that the front fender and door has been repainted ::) There is overspray on the inside of the fenderwell and below the door on the frame.....and there was even some masking tape still underneath it and a little overspray on the end of the dash that meets the door. All the bolts for the front fender and door have been wrenched on. The bed even has a bigger gap between it and the cab on the repaired side compared to the other side. They never said anything besides it was new. It has 150 miles on it. He is going to see them later on today if he gets off of work in time. The truck originally was 25K but they said since it was the last one they would sell it for 20K.............what do you guys think about this :icon_smile_question:

used to sell cars, sounds like it was wrecked but fixed under the table from the factory with a huge discount to move it out.i remember a chevy blazer was wrecked but fixed when i worked at a chevy dealer in nj.it was discounted by 10k and placed in the showroom, everyday it was pushed to get sold and a bonus was put on it from the sales manager just to get rid of it.the things i found out about dealers scares me they are shady by far....

Try getting a car fax on it.  If nothing shows up on the car fax then it probably was damaged during shipping or in the lot. The dealer should have told your friend about it.

Remember the original 'Gone in 60 Seconds', where every Caddy on the front row got wrecked? Maybe that truck was on the front row, and...

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Well he got a call today from them today. The Manager showed up this morning and seen the truck was gone and if their salesman told him it was in a transport accident. Of course the salesman somehow miised that part? They told him that they would try to alighn everything back up and knock off 2,000. So basicly if it all goes ok he got a practically new F-150 long bed with V-8, air,PB,PS for 18K.

Don't be nice, that's misrepresentation. Don't take their first offer. Ask for $5,000 with the plan on settling for $3,000.   :Twocents: If it was something which occurred during the transportation, then it was a factory/dealer issue...not just a sleezy dealer pulling a fast one. In addition have them add it to the purchase agreement so the paint etc. is covered by the warranty.

BMW just got into a few multi-million dollar problems for this old trick.

Tell your friend to take a copy of this to give to the dealer when he asks for the $5K off

pretty stand up-ish of the manager. but it's still a ford that goes down in value faster than barry bonds baseball cards..
knowing how bad fords are to begin with, can you imagine how bad a wrecked one will be? what a hard life for that poor truck.. lol just messing i hate ford trucks

I don't think Ford Trucks are so bad. I had two before my Dodge and NEVER had a break down anywhere. They were the 73-79 models. I drove the piss out of them and pulled a heavy trailer and cars all over. The front end suspension on the I beam type were pretty much indestructible. Had one trans go out after 250K. I literally floored them loaded with trailers all over and couldn't kill'em :Twocents:
