hi! i just found an estate auction that has a 1970 2-door coronet 440(s18 car) that will be auctioned off. does anyone have an idea on value of a car like this?  i havent seen it but its supposed to have around 72,000 original miles and still all original in real good shape with no rust but just the usual wear from driving. also comes with original bill of sale. original owner car... :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

If it is solid, runs and drives good, and not an awful color combo... W/O pics I would say from 3-5K The things to look at are the grills and rear tail panel. They are hard to find and can cost ya! IF there is no rust I would lean more on the 5+ side. The 70s have a fallow, but not like chargers or 69s so they wont pull as much cash. They also cost more to fix up due to lower production #s and some real odd ball parts. The grills are very prone to warpage, and cracking. The tail panel are made of recycled pop cans so you see lots of them that are bent or kinked! A guy can get these parts that are driver quality for about 200 grills and 100 tail panel, but if it is something you want to restore all the way it may be more like 400 for grills and 500 for a restored tail panel. The frame around the torsion bars like to rust out, along with floor, trunk, quarters, rear window corners, and some times dog legs. The big thing is that frame! It can cost more to fix then it is sometimes worth! Nice things are that they are relatively easy to turn Big Block. If it is a 318 car it will have an 8 1/4 rear. Pics would go a long way and I think I could tell ya a realistic value. Good luck and Pm me with any quesions!

i got mine on ebay for $9700. yeah i stole it. guy wanted 15.. it is a 318 car, california car. 26000 original miles. i got the 318 and 904 with it, but it had just undergone a 5 year resto with a new 440/727.. so if that gives you any indication i think mean 318 is about right. sight unseen 3-5k is good.

STOLE!!! YOU SUCK! lol JK, I have 10 into mine... 500 HP costs a lot lol, but I still need body work!

The thing is that it is a 318 coronet 440... It cold be worth money if you did a motor swap, cleaned up the interior a bit, and gave it a good paint job! then you could see anywhere form 15-20+ but I dont see you msking much off of it if you wanted to flip it. If you are looking for something to keep it isa good car, if ya want a profit this aint the right car for the job! 70s dont pull the $ like the charger or the 69 B bodies!

I don't think it will bring near that, not for a 318 car.

70 coronets are the best looking cars. I think 10K is high. But thee are allot of people that will pay outrageous prices for something they want. I wish I still had my 70 Bee's. I also had a 70 coronet 500 in FY1. Kick myself for selling that too. All N code cars.

maybe not, but, if all the '70  only parts are there and in good shape, solid body and frames, it would be worth it. just the hassel of finding the 70 only stuff would be worht it.

The market is really soft on these. The shape is either hated or adored. Few people are in the middle. These will always be the red headed step children on the 68-70 B bodies.

When I had mine, the hardest parts to find were nice bumpers, grilles, front valence trim, and in my case decklid trim. Everything else was rather plentiful.

I think it mostly depends on who's in the audience or at the Auction Bidding, If some die hard Mopar nuts there maybe over $5,000. If not probably less then $5,000  all because of the 318 unless some clown is fooled by the 440 emblem? :shruggy: :Twocents: LEON

:2thumbs:   I think 3-5K is a fair assessment...
