Great choice for a name! Being that b5blue is my favorite color of all time, the thought of a b5blue C5-A Galaxy put a smile on my face   :o Good luck to you and I hope your back heals well. I read this thread straight through one night...I found myself rooting for you page after page and it was 3 or 4 AM by the time I got to page 48!  :2thumbs:

Thanks, Blue Thunder was actually my first thought... after several other diversions I ended back where I started.  As I said earlier, AeroBlue came very close to being the pick...

A very good friend is also a B5 fanatic... aka "B5Dale".  Almost all his vehicles are B5... or "near B5" blue, including a 1969 340 Barracuda, 1970 Hemi Challenger R/T, 1971 340 Demon, 199? Cadillac Allante, 200? Acura NSX, & 2006 Viper.  B5 is very near the top of my list too, but Triple Black on an old Mopar is my top combo...

WOW, reading the thread straight through!  :o  Its been quite a trip so far... "a long saga" indeed.  The new body shop in Arkansas has been great to work with, so I think this will have a happy ending... stay tuned!  ;)

Any updates? :popcrn:

Not really...  a temporary change in priorities at the bodyshop which was fully explained to me has the C500  on hold.  As I told Greg when he called to discuss the hold, a delay is not a problem for me... I have my hands full with other projects and ongoing health issues including injuries from a recent fall at work.

It might be several months before significant new progress is made on the C500...

Thanks for the get-well wishes guys!  I am doing better now, but still have a ways to go...

Time for an update... the bodyshop has relocated, and work is beginning again on the C500.    I expect to start receiving new pictures in the next few weeks.

Also, today I spoke with Frank P. who I believe to be the second owner of the Charger 500.  Frank lived in Aurora, Missouri at the time and bought the C500 in about 1971 with about 18,000 miles on it from a Chrysler-Plymouth or Dodge dealer in Monett, Missouri.  By that time, the original 440 HP was apparently gone, replaced by a non-HP 440.  Frank said he raced the C500 a LOT with a variety of 440s and 383s in it over the years that he owned it.  He later sold the C500 to his brother Jerry P. whose name was on the Missouri title that I received when I purchased the car.

In 1982, Jerry sold the C500 to David B. in the Fort Worth area who re-sold it a few days later to Phil F. who kept it a few years.  Phil then sold the C500 to Les A. who kept it only a short time before selling the car to me in 1986...

Frank will look for any pictures of the C500 that he might have, but most were destroyed in a house fire years ago...   He will ask Jerry to look for pictures & documents as well.

Well, thats all for now...

Well, a little update, but no new pictures yet... might have some soon.  Greg called a few days ago and confirmed the C500 is in work again, and said he would try to take new pictures this weekend.  From our discussion, I am hopefull that Blue Thunder might be B5 again in 2-3 months...

Also, I took advantage of the DC.Com group buy discount from Speciality Wheel, Ltd and ordered a set of their W23 style Warrior wheels (repro of the "recall wheels").  The discount was about 25%, with the full set with center  caps, lug nuts, and trim rings costing me $1575 plus shipping.  I believe these wheels will look great on my B5 Blue Charger 500...

I am hoping to use redlines if they will properly fit the 7 inch width (15x7) I ordered...  Thanks for the picture Brian!  :drool5:  :drool5:  :drool5:  Otherwise blackwall performance radials I suppose... I haven't given it a lot of thought tho.
