How to Wash a Big Rig?..

  maybe you guys can help...
i spent about three and a half hours outside this moring washing my new Class A motor Home,.. i live on a pretty steep hill which sometimes worked for me but mostly against me, the sides are o.k. to get to... but the top was a biotch! i think i got to about 40% without applying any wax...  and it's very dirty, and i mean dirty... like black soot and birdsh*t dirty...
so i was thinking some of you guys like Lowprofile and some others have big rigs and i'm sure your faced with this dirty job all the time plowing through swams of locusts and the like in 100 degree plus heat, and then in winter salt and mud and that absolute nightmare which is bad enuff to get off a car let alone a semi...

so i wanna know, working in the sun is nuts of course so i started really early before it really broke thru the morning fog... and had to quit at 11:00 when it finally came up 15 degrees.. i wanna wax it when it's clean, and detail all the little trim and plastic air vents and stuff too,.. but of course i can't walk on the fiberglass top or go to town with steel wool...
Anyhow,.. got any tips for washin and waxing this battlewagon?...  :shruggy:
Thanks...

If you look around at some automotive stores, some sell brushes that have a telescopic handle. Then you just adjust the length for your reach. I don't know how many farm implament stores you have out there, but they should have them too as well as milk house brushes. Milk house brushes are softer and clean nicely.  :yesnod:

BTW; if you get a milk house brush with a shorter handle, cut the very end off of the handle, and you can get a replacement rake handle and shove the rake handle into the milk house brush handle too. Although, it might take some modifying.

The company that I drive part time for has a wash bay for the trucks and trailers with catwalks set up along the sides for easy washing of the roof and tank trailers. You could possibly rig up something similar to this if you can pick up a couple of step ladders and lay a 2x10x12 towards the top between them.

The detailer that washes our planes uses a zep trucker brush with a long telescopic handle.  You can get it for 25 bucks.  Wash with lukewarm water.  I would use simplegreen.  For the really tough stains you can use rubbing alcohol or a heavy duty degreaser

That's the brush I was thinking of. I couldn't remember the name though. Some of the automotive stores here sell them.

I do own the wash poles the guys are talking about. You can buy them at almost any truckstop. The closest truckwash to you is over in Sacramento, at the 49'er truckstop. Where I-5 and Hwy 99 connect. They are building a new flying J Truckstop out in Dixon [ I-80  Pedrick Rd, #73] You'll like the Flying J's when you're traveling bro. They all have RV facilities, including a place to dump your waste/grey water!

Oh,..
What's one of those truck stop wash places cost?...

Lowprofile

I know to get my Tractor/Trailer washed & waxed, its about $70 bucks.  They have different prices for every vehicle.

Here it is. I don't think a couple of step ladders and a couple of 2x10x12 towards the top would be real safe to be on top of.

thats gotta be good on parking pins.....
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....
